So recently I decided to start vaping, I had done it before and got the cheapo lil E cigs and they were alright but nothing like real tobacco. My sister recomended I try something else seeing how I mentioned to her my want to quit dipping as I was dipping about a can or so a day. She set me up with viper-vape.com and told me what to get. My set up is as follows, Kanger EVOD and the E Go C Twist 1300 MAH. I ordered my juice from mount baker Vapor and got Blue-Bacco and than the US american blend, both very good tasting and smooth. I am wondering if anyone can give me any suggestions on things to look into, I was thinking of maybe a bigger tank but I have no Idea in which direction to go in or what to look for. Also I was wondering if anyone knows any sites that offer sample packs? Keep in mind I am deployed right now so it would be easier if they shipped to AE, any advice is appreciated guys.

That's a good set up for now. I have the twist and a variety of clearos. I like the evod, but it doesn't hold much liquid. I really like the Vision Vivi Novas or the Kanger T3s. The Vision is top coil, the Kanger is bottom.

As for juice, Heathers Heavenly Vapes have samples and she makes great juice. High Desert Vapes is having a 50% off sale (coupon code fiftyoff) and they make great dessert and fruit flavors.

Not sure who ships out that way, though.

More questions haha, what do you mean by Vision is the top coil the kanger is the bottom? Im really new to this and can't believe how far the electronic cig has come. Also the replacement head's....the thing that goes inside the tank, is that different for all tanks or universal? And what exactally is a cartomizer a atomizer clearomizer and glassomizer?

I use vision vivi nova tanks, 3.5 ml. I've had nothing but good experience with these tanks. Can see the juice level. Easy to fill and maintain tank.

I just KNEW you were gonna get in here and say........ "yeah, I have some advise.......take two asprin and call me in ther morning"

I like and use the evods, but I have the same problems...too small and hard to see. I recently got a Vision Victory tank that I like and it can use the same evod/pt coils. I don't see it mentioned here often so YMMV.

I do like the blu-bacco from Mt Baker. I also like the choco-tobacco and the peach tobacco. Recently tried the vanilla tobacco...meh...t it obviously needs some steeping time.

I like the iclear30 line. The 30 and 30b are my favorites. Easy to fill has Max full line so u can't over fill and had a swivel knuckle head tip which is convenient. Once u get used to the twist look into variable volt vapes like innokin or something along those lines. I'm in love with my innokin svd and the iclear30 combo.

PROPER TERMINOLOGY: IS IT A CARTO, A TANK, OR WHAT?

Clearomizers use silica string wicks to draw e-liquid to the coils in the heads. Some are single and some are dual coiled. Most have replaceable coil heads which will need to be replaced every 2 - 3 weeks ($2-$3 each).

  • Top coils may create a warmer vapor due to the shorter distance from the coil to the mouth. The wicks are near the top of the tank, so when juice levels fall they are fighting gravity, so tipping the tank sideways helps keep the upper wicks wet to prevent dry hits.
  • Bottom coils may provide a cooler vape, being the vapor has longer to travel from the coils to the mouth. Not fighting gravity, so you don't have to do the tip drill.

Cartotanks use pre-punched cartomizers. A carto uses a big wad of polyfill material as the wick, which totally surrounds the heating coil. As long as you completely pre-fill the carto with e-liquid prior to putting them into the tank, you should get a maintanance-free delivery device that doesn't give dry hits or flood like a clearomizer can. The cartomizers will need to be replaced every 2 - 3 weeks ($2 each). Cartomizers can be single or dual coiled, choose the single coils. BADITUDE'S CARTOTANK TUTORIAL

I have been using the iClear 30b and am very pleased with it. Problem with the clearos is that you need to know what kind of draw you want. Things like the Protank tend to be very airy while the iclear 30 is pretty tight. You could always try the new Kanger Aero Tank. It allows you to control the draw.

I'm sorry! I didn't see this until now.

Ok, so top coil clearomizers have the coil near the top, where you put your mouth. These generally produce a warmer vape. Although since the coil/wick is at the top, you have to turn them over/swirl the liquid around once the juice level gets low to make sure the wicks are staying wet.

Top coil: top coil.jpg

Bottom coil clearos (evods, protanks, etc.) have the coil/wick assembly on the bottom of the tank. This can be a cooler vape, but gravity makes wicking a lot easier.

Bottom coil: bottom coil.jpg

As for the replacement heads, they're all generally different unless you have a few tanks within the same brand. For example, Protank (1, 2, and mini I believe) and Evod heads are interchangeable. Because they're all made by Kanger. Vivi Nova, V-Fate, and probably a few others have interchangeable heads too because they're made by the same people.

A cartomizer is a cartridge you fill with eliquid and is filled with a polyfill material and an atomizer at the bottom.

Cartomizer: carto.jpg

A clearomizer is a (usually plastic) tank that holds the eliquid, with an atomizer in it, either in the top or bottom like I talked about before. Evods, Vivi Novas, etc. are clearos.

Glassomizers are clearomizers, but with glass/Pyrex tank, instead of plastic. These are good for eliquid flavors that do not react well with plastic (cinnamon, citrus, etc.)

There are also cartomizer tanks, which is...a mutant :) It's a tank like a clearomizer or glassomizer, but instead of an atomizer, it has a cartomizer in the middle of it. The cartomizer has one or more holes punched in it, so as you vape, liquid from the tank flows into the cartomizer and keeps it wet. You can generally hold a lot of liquid in one tank this way.

Did I completely confuse you?
