Anyone have feelings on Mammoth Mods?

So I've been trying to find a dual-18650 fully mechanical box that I can afford for a really long time. I don't love clone mechs for the most part, but still haven't totally ruled it out. I stumbled across Mammoth mods, which I had never heard of before. They sell DIY kits and parts to put together a box mod yourself at a fairly steep discount compared to a lot of authentic, full-mech boxes.

I do NOT have the knowledge or skills to assemble it, but my uncle most certainly does.

Has anyone used them? Anyone feel strongly about it one way or another? I'm having a hard time finding info, but it looks fine and of course I know who will be responsible for actually putting it together. I'm just trying to do my due diligence.

TIA.

Edit: I mentioned this down below, too, but it actually appears that the kits are unregulated with mosfet and possibly not a mechanical switch. I will do a bit more looking. I was under the impression the wires in the kit were all related to the optional voltmeter, which doesn't appear to be the case.

Don't take this the wrong way.
I'd trust a clone mech made in a multi million dollar factory over a DIY mech box assembled by a novice vaper.
Many clones are equal to, or better made than their authentic counterparts simply because they are made in larger factories on better equipment.

@Bad Ninja No, you misunderstand.

Mech boxes are obviously fairly simple when you get down to it, if you have the skills and knowledge re: electronics and soldering. I would not be assembling it. The person who would/will be, my uncle, certainly has the know-how, tools, and experience. And I trust him more than a clone factory in China, not to mention I am simply not that comfortable with clones if another viable option (including expense) exists. Whether or not this is viable, that's what I'm trying to find out.

No one in this situation is a novice vaper. Where you got that from, I'm not sure.

I am asking on the quality of the parts themselves, if anyone knows.

No I understand fully how they all work.
I have about 85 mechs, and over 100 mods both clone and authentic.

Your clone comment lead me to believe you don't have a lot of experienced with mechs.

You are incorrect. In fact, I have most likely been using mechs longer than you, as I have been vaping longer than many here and got my first mech when they were basically all homemade. That's not a one-up, just a fact. The question here is fairly simple. I appreciate your input, but it doesn't seem you can answer it? Or if you can, that'd be great, but you've yet to.

I agree this is not a good option for novice vapers, and fortunately that's not an issue here.

Thanks for the replies.

Thank you! That's really all I'm looking for.

Believe me. I know my stuff as well as the next person who's been doing this as long as I have. It comes with the territory, as you know. I just don't prefer mechs, and therefore have less experience with them than regulated devices. It's as simple as that. (I couldn't put either together myself.) Everything else, it's fine. But your warnings are good for posterity, because it's NOT something for beginners.

Sorry if I came off snippy.

I did, and was trying to keep you safe.

Don't guess without evidence. You would be very incorrect.

Thanks. All I'd say is make sure you're not guessing, too :) Better to ere on the safer side of caution, though.

Like I said, I'm not ruling out a clone. I just don't like them in theory. Personal preference. I have clone atomizers and would get a clone mech, if that's the absolute best option here. Right now I seem to have another, unless told otherwise.

For the rest, I'd be curious if anyone has actually used Mammoth.

Thanks @Bad Ninja... it looks like they're currently closed, though? :(

Again, I'm not 100% staunchly against clones. I think maybe a Raptor clone came up as a back pocket option. Frankly I could probably get a reasonably priced clone in addition to this, or consider one of the better clone tubes besides the box... I just like fairly low builds and would feel better with the additional amp limit afforded by two batteries.

I know ABOUT enough to see that the Mammoth Mods kit looks pretty solid, I'm just also aware plenty of other folks here know enough to be able to give me better insight.

Sorry for double post, but I just wanted to clarify that I think I was a bit mistaken here. The Mammoth Mod DIY Kits, anyway, are for unregulated mods-- not full mechs. I thought all of the included wires were for the voltmeter which I don't want but that doesn't seem to be the case.

The question still stands as to whether or not anyone has used them or has any further input as I'd still consider it for the price. I also wonder whether they sell fully mechanical switches or if I could get one elsewhere and have my uncle install it. I mean, I know I CAN get a switch elsewhere... just need to do a little more research all the way around. Not jumping right into this either way.

The Raptor clone you mentioned is fully mechanical, and is one helluva nice mod.
Its a damn good option.
There's a thread in this forum with a ton of info on it .
