I have a kayfun lite with airflow on the bottom side next to air adjustment and the fill hole with screw is on the bottom. This tank RBA has been amazing but the last two days when I fill it the coil gets smoking hot and burns and taste horrible. It is as if the juice isn't being absorbed into the cotton wick.

I am thinking I need to let it sit a few minutes before I start smoking? Anyone experience this issue? Anyone have any input?

it was rewicked two days ago...after I noticed the issue arising. I took the old wick out...did a dry burn on the coil to clean it off...checked the resistance (1.3ohms) rewicked it with all natural cotton...soaked the cotton...did a few burns...reassembled the tank and filled it up and upon reassembly started smoking and had the issue...after about 30 mins the issue went away but came back this morning when i refilled the tank...it is as if the cotton is not soaking...is there away to clean out the fluid tracks? (to ensure fluid is getting to the cotton?)

i have a russian 91...make sure the wick..is pre-juiced before filling. also if your using cotton you might be using too much. you dont need alot of it and dont block the juice pathways while tucking the cotton in the deck. i use juice to kinda glue the cotton to the deck before screwing the chamber together...
its a good atty but it has quirks you have to master ...once done it performs nice. :D:banana::D

This too. Less is more when working with a Kayfun. Good rule of thumb to follow is to use enough cotton to feel some resistance when sliding it through the coil, but not so much that your mod would tip over if you weren't holding it as you pulled the cotton through.

Yeah I guess I should have said this is the russian 91....and i've been using two of them since december now...they have been amazing. I haven't changed the way I wick them or anything...guess I'll just have to try to mess around with the damn thing...

I always pre-juice it and tuck it down while juicing...one time i didn't and fired it and the cotton burnt right up...what a noob mistake lol

Hi

I think i experienced the same behaviour with my russian. Be careful when you screw your atomizer to your mod because if the center pin touches the mod contact before you are finished screwing, it might moves the center part (where you fix the coil) a bit, Which results in a short circuit. That might explain why your atomizer heats. In addition, your non IMR battery might explode!

Hope this helps

How much are you filling it? It can't be filled all the way, or it prevents proper wicking. Only fill it up to about 80% full.

This ^^^^ is absolutely correct.

I learned this because my refills always seemed to cause dry hits until I vaped it down to 3/4 or so...always leave an air pocket.

Edit** Rebuilt once again with new coils and less cotton and now no more issue! actually with the less wick cotton it is hitting with more flavor and bigger clouds

So I have learned I am probably using too much cotton is my wick. What would you say for this condition: new coil, new wick, and filled to 80% capacity. First few toots are fine then I'll get one that's burnt. Found I fix it for a while by burping the R91 by loosing the top just a little.
