No tight feelings or palipitations.........just overall aches. I used to get it when I smoked way too many cigs in a day. It can't come from the nicotine or the flavorings because hubby and I did an experiment today. He has only vaped pure unflavored no nic veg. glycerine for the last 24 hours and he gets it within a few minutes of vaping the glycerine. He also has a scratchy throat and alot of phlem.

I have no scratchy throat or plem, but I have the achy chest.

I don't know how long you have been vaping but I had that happen on my second week in. I really cut back my analogs at the same time. I have no idea what it was. First I thought maybe the PG and tried VG which was even worse. By the third week it went away and now I can vape PG, VG, dosen't matter. I think now it might have been all the junk from the analog cigarettes. How long have you been vaping? and what is your history with analogs?

Yes - I'm feeling it right now, but it's not that bad and I'm certainly not giving up on vaping, at least not yet.

I used to be (only 4 weeks ago) a 2-pack (40 cigs) per day smoker. 40 analogs over 16 hours means I was averaging 24 minutes per cig. Knock off about 5 minutes each to actually smoke one and I come up with about 19 minutes between cigs with 2 hands free and not sucking on anything.

I don't get that 19 minutes with my e-cig(s) - I'm lucky I if I get 5 minutes of non-vaping 6 or 8 times a day. So I'm thinking it might be nothing more than sore muscles, and that I need a higher nicotine concentration to cut down the vaping.

But, I also noticed that it seemed to start when I ran out of my first batch of e-juice, which was VG based, and switched to the 2nd batch that is PG based. Whether VG vs PG actually has anything to do with it or not, I've pretty much decided that I prefer the VG stuff taste-wise, vapor-wise, etc., and will be switching back with my next juice order.

A 3rd possibility that occurs to me is that 40+ years of heavy smoking may have totally completely utterly desensitized my lungs and, having cut back to less than a pack per week, they are starting to become resensitized (like a head ache/hangover after heavy drinking - WOW! - recovering from a 40 year bender - whoopy!)

Whatever the cause, you're not the only one feeling it.

well the chemical they put in them apparently does this... why this hasnt been brought to light i dont know. i figured id research it a bit before i bought 1 of these gadgets tho.

"Propylene Glycol

A cosmetic form of mineral oil found in automatic brake and hydraulic fluid and industrial antifreeze. In the skin and hair, propylene glycol works as a humescent, which causes retention of moisture content of skin or cosmetic products by preventing the escape of moisture or water. The Material Safety Data Sheet warns users to avoid skin contact with propylene glycol as this strong skin irritant can cause liver abnormalities and kidney damage.

Known health effects.

Eye irritation, skin irritation, skin drying, defatting. Ingestion has serious health effects similar to above"

thats off one site mind you. but worth looking into no?

There's a lot to comment on here, but just one thing I want to add... stay well hydrated... drink lots of water.

My chest felt funky my first couple of weeks off analogs... now it's feeling great. Your mileage may vary depending on what's goin on in your particular body, so let me add the famous disclaimer... ask your doctor.

There are different grades of PG, industrial and USP. The USP is the pharmaceutical grade:

Propylene Glycol USP/EP (PG USP/EP)

If I were to guess at the source of aches and pains I would be more inclined to blame nicotine content. Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor and can create a full feeling when capillaries are constricted. Cut down on nicotine strength or vaping time (or both) and see if that helps.

Nicotine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nicotine has good and bad properties depending on individual intake. It appears you may not have found your optimal level yet. If you cut nicotine strength/vaping occurance and the aches remain...see a physician. A good physical evaluation by a Doc could allay your fears. Even nicotine replacement via pharmaceuticals have side effects that one must learn to balance. :) Good luck!

This link goes to a discussion of symptoms people have discussed when vaping and may be of interest to you. The symptoms you are having are somewhat common and may be related to previously smoking. Then again maybe not, but reading the posts at this link was helpful to me when I experienced some discomfort from vaping / quitting analogs.
Best Wishes!

Guess I can't post a link.
Go to the "health-safety-e-smoking forum" here and look for the post "common-symptoms-when-e-smoking"
