I got my ekowool as part of a special bundle pack for a tenner from here (recommended by terry)

The Mesh Company (Warrington) Ltd Single Spiral (Metal Mesh Curtain) Coloured Wire

I also got 5 10ml bottles from alchemists cupboard last week so they are still steeping at the moment, but i have had a quick try of them...

Egg custard tart - seems nice, i can definitely taste custard in there but needs longer to steep
Treacle tart - cant tell yet
Santas Xmas cake - cant tell yet
Sherbert Lemon - Nice, fizzy and fresh tasting, just what you would expect from sherbert lemon and i am gonna try mixing it with a bit of mentholyptus concentrate & honey.
Chocolate Limes - Excellent, really enjoying this one. The Lime isnt too strong and the chocolate is a nice smooth milk chocolate flavour. You get a nice burst of lime with the Throat hit, and the smooth chocolate taste on the exhale

They look a similar price to the stuff at vape-atomizer-mesh, Cody.

It's a good price for a starter pack though mate. You done any coiling today ??

That's odd. I ordered from them, but when i looked back and checked the email, the link was to the one i posted earlier for Claire, but they are obviously different sites! (I couldnt find the special bundles on the site i linked).

I wonder if they are somehow related?? Anyway, the link Ian posted is the one you want, ignore mine!

I'll have to get myself some of that organic cotton stuff from boots. Someone (could well have been you!) said it's the best stuff to use and one bag for about £4 will last you forever.

Just found out, the Wife got them from a beauty products wholesaler (thought she got them from Boots). But you should be able to get them from Boots or Bodyshop or wherever. Their really cheap, about £4-8 for about 300 pads. As long as their 100% cotton/untreated/unbleached etc. I don't even bother boiling them, just cut into 2mm strips and your good to go :)

Some updates from FastTech - some of my standing orders are now packaged and classified as 'shipped', but no updates from HKP.

I am a bit confused about the cotton wicking process. So, you install the coil and then you pack the bottom with cotton balls, and what about the wick? I've read that it burns terribly. I don't have any cotton balls, so I'll not worry about it for now =]

I received the little springs in and they do fire up, but the diameter of the wire is soooooooo thick that they don't heat the wick quickly or properly. They'll be a wash for vaping, so I'll pass them onto a friend that makes jewelry.

I'll be interested to see what you think of that when it arrives mate... who needs reviews when you have Ian!

I may have cut back on my vape spend this month, but i popped into JD sports on my way home from work (mistake) and couldnt resist a new pair of trainers and a top so there goes £175 that could have been provari #2 :p

Claire, try putting a bit of ejuice on the seals before you put the top cap back on it, makes it easier to remove when you need to fill it.

Terry recommends the iAtty, I'd also recommend the Fogger.

The Wife hardly asks the price of stuff these days, as long as I pay for the mortgage each month, that's all she's worried about. Don't think I'd get away with "sorry love, I can't do the mortgage this month, I've seen 2 chi-you's, a Paps X and a new Provari that I must buy instead"
Cheers Ian I'll try that later. My other halves the same, as long as I do the rent and my mobile he don't really mind what I spend.

Ekowool is a 100% better than silica mate (you just need to torch the ends so it doesn't fray). But I reckon cotton is 100% better than ekowool.

I did a side by side comparison when I first got the ekowool in. Re-wicked 3 novas with silica, eko and cotton. All at 1.7 ohms using 30g kanthal. The cotton wick won hands down. The way I see it, silica is fish and chips, eko is a fine 3 course meal and cotton is the full monty at a Michelin star restaurant that you have to book 3 months in advance
I won't be in no rush to get some then, probably get a bit just to see when I get round to ordering a bit of mesh to try out.

That's the company I got my kanthal from, didn't realise they did things other than mesh and wire, duh!
I got the sherbert lemon and egg custard tart too. Also ordered American apple pie to compare to JJ, Aunty Flo's pear drops and bananas and cream.

My Rocket and V12 are on the way too as of this evening :)
Cotton wicks out of cotton balls, you just unroll the ball flat, tear a little strip off, roll into a wick shape and wet one end slightly to help slide through the coil - loads of vids on YouTube showing how to do it, probably different but that's how I do mine and never had a prob yet, it'll burn if you make wick too thick or don't let it saturate fully before firing up.

So, iAtty, Fogger, some plastic drip tips - any other bits of goodies I should check out before hitting checkout and keeping fingers crossed I leave enough for my dd?

Claire's got it spot on Lisa. Fit the coil first then insert the cotton after. It doesn't matter if the cotton seems a bit loose in the coil, cos it really does swell up a lot when the liquid hits it. You can wrap the cotton around the outside of the coil too, but it's a lot harder to do right.

Did you honestly try those springs out. I'm surprised you managed to fit them under the coil screws ;)

That's your problem right there mate. Do as I do, get your clothes from Oxfam, or pinch them off someone else's washing line, you'll soon have Vari no.2

I think it's a good idea to lube all new seals a little with juice, you never know when you'll need to take things apart.

I'd still get some ekowool Claire, it's a lot better than silica. I have to use it in a couple of attys, where the cotton can wick too fast.

Thanks Ian, I'll lube this up when I next take it to bits and shall do so when my other rebuildables arrive.
I'll order some ekowool too, it can go in the little section of my vape box where the silica is dying as I ain't bothered with that since discovering how good cotton vapes...........after I've chopped a few bits off to wick my gear for comparison sake!
May as well get some mesh while I'm at it.

Better calm down soon or the kids will be lucky to get a selection box Christmas Day while I've got about 6 mods and various RBA's an drippers on the go, haha.

I was telling Terry before that I'm gonna try some cotton inside ekowool when I suss out the best way to do it. Sort of like a hybrid wick. The kids will be fine with some chocolate for Christmas, throw in an apple and a lump of coal
