I do quite a bit of re-building, mostly changing things to cotton.
I've heard that FT do some coils that have no resistance wire legs and the wraps are resistance wire. I'm going to have to check though, if they are the right sort, I'll have to order some for the Ithaka clone. I think they come in a 3 pack already wrapped around silica wicks. I'll let you know when I find out :D

Cheers mate,

I think the ithaka, is the next generation oddy

I'm hoping I can find parts for it, it's always good to have spare seals etc.
But to be honest, if it lasts me a few months without swapping out parts I'll be happy, I'll probably have moved onto something else in 3 months

Just wondering if anyone in the UK forum has used fasttech.com

The reason for asking is, I've been looking at the prices for their Vamo and it seems a lot cheaper than most UK vendors. Not really worried about the quality, but the chance of having to pay extra for import duty and vat etc.
I know RM generally charge a handling fee. My last order from USA incurred a vat and handling fee, ended up paying an extra £23 for my Vmod - but all the UK vendors were out of stock.

So anyone have any experience ordering from fasttech and did you have to pay any extras to get your kit ???

Well I am on order number 5 from them and have had no problems at all. Shipping time is about 8 days but I have gotten items from them in ~5 when in stock.
I highly recommend them to anybody new to vaping and don't want to spend a huge outlay. Just be patient with the FREE shipping.

LOL! ok i have plenty of wire and it is amasing how you can rebuild a glass fuel filter into a new tank? :D

Terry you are almost right, i just want to have a go at building a MOD. Ian do you do a bit of tinkering?

I love a bit of tinkering. It's great to take things apart, modify them and get them working even better than before.

I've always said that one day I'll build my own mod, just can't decide which design yet :D

That's pretty quick shipping. Us poor cousins in the UK have to make do with 10+ days shipping

Think I'm on order no.7 or 8 now, I've lost count.

Been looking at the typical box mods but not that impressed. Great if you not meesed with that sort of stuff so would like to have a go at doing a tube type mod. Ordered a bunch of parts to see how it could lay out. Still might build a box mod just because?
That pre wound wire, you might as well just do that yourself? rder some 32awg Kathal from fleabay and do it yourself? £2.00 for 20m real and your away. I'm even looking at building a device to make winding easier?

It's probably a good idea to build a box mod to start with, just to get the method right.
But I've been thinking about buying the Vamo circuit board and building it into a customized tube mod, something with loads of engraving on it, that looks totally unique. I'll build it one day.
The pre wound coils, are for attys that need a coil made from non-resistance wire and resistance wire. Basic coils from kanthal are pretty easy to do. But the non-res/res combos are a bit more difficult to do, it's hard to join the two wire types together.

At the moment I've promised myself not to spend, but Terry will tell you it doesn't last very long

I pulled the trigger whilst looking for it LOL
WHO WILL BUILD THE FIRST MOD ? I am guessing that if moose wins, Then trouble will be the first to make you an offer for it.

Maybe not? i'm good at coming up with solutions and grabing the gear but rubbish executing them Terry

No worries Terry and Ian it's good to share. There is cheaper but from greece and only few pence in it. On the bld front i'm lucky in that i have facilities available to machine stuff (my workshop). Looking at either SS or aluminium, if the latter then i will cast the material myself and use aluminium bronse as not seen that used yet :)

So I've just been doing some checking Terry, it looks like these are a no res/res/no res combo (none resistance for the legs). So they should work on the oddy:

$1.86 Replacement Atomizer Core Heating Wire for Electronic Cigarette (3-Pack) 3-pack at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

If you read the reviews and comments, it looks like the right piece of kit :D

Yeah, not bad for £1.22 for 3.

.......n it... I think we all need help, Serious help, The lot of us.

Ha ha ha... It's true we all need help. Joining these wires together is simple enough Ian honesly. There is a vid on Youtube somewhere but if you order them them send us close up pic so we can see how they do it for real. Terry if you do order be prepared for a wait as my order for the Oddy is on hold.
