i love them as well trish.:D I have some friends who are lets say real characters. A few years ago one of them got home in the early hours, after a real long drinking session.

Went straight to the kitchen, pulled out a fray bentos, read the intstructions. Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees etc and cook for 25 mins or untill the pastry has risen. sorry i am laughing my head off typing this.

Anyhoo he pops it in the oven, goes into the living room (this is his mums house BTW) and he fell asleep in the chair.
About 90 minutes later there was a massive explosion :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: he didn`t know you had to remove the lid. Blew a big hole out of his mums kitchen wall!
I could almost hear that coming! :D

I can imagine you trying to type that whilst laughing!

You have to feel for his mother. :D
Being the mother of two sons (all nicely grown up and safe for release into the wild now) I do indeed sympathise! It once happened on a smaller scale with some intended hard boiled eggs ...pan burned dry and they exploded! Never quite knew what to expect next :)

Knocking it over was a bit of a freak accident - the tripod is quite a heavy one. I was surprised it didn't damage the macro lens that was on it at the time.
The 450D may be a few models back, but it serves me well. Unfortunately, to have this one repaired would cost over £100 ...perhaps as much as £150, and I could buy a decent used one for that. What I will do is see how things go (it's been a quiet time so far this year) and if my next exhibition goes OK, I'll get a 550D. I do still have a good working one.
Photography isn't a hobby, it's a somewhat reluctant necessity for my work. I photograph objects, fruit, fabric etc., either singly or in set-ups, often using low light longer exposures, and use them for reference. Plus, I do all the photography of finished work for the galleries to use, and for my own website. It's a pain, but it means I can send them properly colour adjusted/edited images before the actual work has to be there, so even if not ready to varnish & frame, I can photograph them.

Ooh, bit of a Pro then :2cool:, I'm just a snapper, but like to get some good shots when I do make the effort.

Not a pro in that sense :) - I know another painter in LA, and he also does professional photography: he set me right with what camera & lens types to get, and then told me which settings to try for what I was wanting to do with both types of image.
Hardest is the photography of the actual finished paintings - dark backgrounds are difficult to get without any reflections from other things ...I have all sorts of black backdrops and boards to eliminate that kind of thing.

That photographer friend in LA was one of only a few allowed close access to the shuttle on it's way through LA last year! He got some great day and night shots of it.

I'm running out of Confusion and Mint Choc Vapetto! I placed an order for some more on Saturday and got a despatch email tonight ...so hopefully only a couple of days! :)

Saw a vid that someone had shot of that shuttle, think it was on YT, I'm waiting until I try the other Vapetto and my 2 Steamgunk juices before I place another order with CV

I just finished a tank of sherbet lemon what Ian kindly sent me, Quick clean and filled with lemonade from LT. There is not as much flavour as the afore mentioned but never the less, it still is a very nice tasting vape. I don`t think it is as nice as the orange from LT, but i am enjoying it.

As for the jamaican ginger, i am still not getting very far with this one :( Although it is very cakey, that`s all i seem to be getting, so the jury is still out on this one.

Double Vapemail day today :) Grandmas cinnamon danish, suicide bunny mothers milk & suicide bunny the O.B from spiritus and the nitro cartos from Ikenvape (good timing considering my woes with the C9V cartos :))

I'm currently puffing away on my KFL trying to vape all the blackurrant and licorice so i can change the wick and get it full up with SD&C as terry suggested.

I like the LT lemonade, but it isn't a particularly strongly flavoured one. I found their Orange to be much stronger, but I'd prefer a more 'real' orange flavour - for me, of the citrus, I like the LT Lime Fresh and the standard lime best. The other lemon one I got that was nice is the Cheezy Lemon.

Jamaican ginger - well, the best flavour I've had is from a small clearomiser on a small battery ...clogged up pretty quick, and also did in an Evod, which also gave a decent flavour. The ginger isn't a prominent flavour ..it seems to blend in with the syrupy cake and creamy flavours. I do like it when I can get a stronger/fuller blast of it!

I dont eat meat any more (I'm a pescetarian dont you know :p)

However, i do have fond memories of my mum cooking fray bentos pies when i was a wee lad and we were on holiday down in devon in a static caravan. Great times!
That's the type of thing we used them for! Always useful if we rented a cottage or flat for a holiday.

We just had tuna and Caesar salad with tomato/cheese flatbread - very nice! :)

I couldnt wait to get the B&L out of the KFL to put the SD&C in so just tipped the last of it back into the bottle, took the wick out and did a few dry burns as ian and terry suggested and put a new cotton wick in and it's immediately working great, tons of flavour from the SD&C - even more than in the carto tank. I'm sure now that i have seen how Ian set the coil and wick up i can do a decent job of replicating that. I really like the idea of making the coil a bit wider too - so much easier to get the wick in :)

I'm not a bad influence Trisha, honestly (sending subliminal message to buy a Vmod):laugh:

So, will an MVP 2 do?
Innokin iTaste MVP Version 2 Kit

My tin foil helmet obviously isn't working properly! :( :D

I'm hoping it will be simple to use though - don't want anything fiddly to use!
I thought the extra battery charge time would be useful though ...not too sure about this voltage stuff ...I'll need to know what to set it at and leave it!
I liked this one with the Kanger Unitank.

Got the drippy things today - quite amusing! Could wish drips lasted longer, but hey-ho, at least I can taste things!

Something I'm not clear about though: why is using this better than clogging up a coil in an Evod for instance ...does it take longer to clog these up?

Can't say it's as satisfying a blast of the Jamaican Ginger as I can get when first putting it into an Evod or smaller clearomiser. I can see how useful it is for tasting new flavours though! :)

OH now you really have caught the bug trish  I told you Ian was a bad influence

With the dripper trish is when it does clog all you have to do is run it under hot water dry it off with tissue then dry burn and blow off the crap. It may seem like a lot to do, but honestly it is a 2 minute job. And it should take a while longer to clog as there is no wick there to hold the juice on to the coil if that makes sense.

I am not sure what voltage your batteries are trish, but if you get an mvp where you can crank up the voltage THEN you will see the difference.:D

Hi Guys

Got my IGO W2 today and watched a 4 coil build youtube video, it's horrendously fiddly and that's coming from a man who has an illuminated desk magnifier. I did manage to fit one of the coils that came with it and managed to get it working but I think I'm going to put it to one side until I have more experience.

On the other hand I built my first coil for the Kayfun lite plus today with cotton wicking, not a huge success but a definite improvement on the prebuilt coil that came with it. I just need practice.

Then again, the Kayfun often fails to register on either my VV3 or my MVP, anyone else had this problem and can offer a solution?

On a completely different subject, my Chefs Vapour SD&C arrived today, It's good but only a couple of days old. I'll stay with the RY-..... as my favourite for the moment, ordered another 30 ml :)

Well it's been a long day today, I'm knackered :(
Up until the other day I have only had button tops, but needed some more and couldn't source any so got some flat tops, so far I've found 2 that won't take them, the eVic I knew wouldn't as the tubes have a hole at the top end where the button pokes through, the Provari doesn't either, but my Coolfire 1 with extension works fine, I'll just test them as I need them for the rest.

The Firebox is lovely and so easy to use, I've also got a 2nd hand Billet box on it's way to me, cost me a little more than a brand new one, but I get lots of accessories and batteries to go with it and no surprise tax to pay.

I've found the same Bob. My Vamo will take any battery, but the Provari button top only. A lot of the time it's just down to the inner tube length and the top connector shape. But I've also found that the bottom part of the battery makes a difference too. My Panny's don't have the insulation wrapping around the bottom of the battery, so I can't use them in some mods or the mod will self fire. Like you say, it's just trial and error to see what works.

Don't even think of cutting your meal break short just to send something to me! Have your proper break - you need it on a 12hr shift! :)

What a lousy day you had - hope tomorrow is a really good day!

It's not a problem Trisha. It's a long day but I do get plenty of breaks in between, out of 12 hours I can only do a certain number of hours driving by law, so I spend a lot of time doing other work in the depot. Had one break of an hour so I popped to the PO then. So it's on it's way too you now. I double wrapped it, cos the X9's are a glass tank, so should hold up in the post :D

Okay mate good night. what butties are you doing, spam and onion. :D

Well I had soft cheese with a touch of chilli added, branston pickle and loads of baby leaf lettuce ....lovely :)

Glad you're liking the sherbert lemon mate. It's a great vape that one, I like it almost as much as the lemon meringue pie :D

The Grandmas Cinammon Danish is lovely Cody, I tried to do a similar one in DIY, but mine ended up being a bit sweeter with a coffee note. I've been mixing GCD with the snickerdoodle - it's delicious.

Glad it's working so well mate. I just used a 2mm drillbit to wrap the coil, but anything of the same diameter will work. Like I said the 2mm coil should last longer. I do get slightly more flavour and vapour with a 1mm or smaller coil, but they don't last as long and their a pain in the bum to get the wick through. Was it easy enough to work with the cotton pads ??

The MVP2 is a great one to get going with Trisha, people rave about that one. I'd recommend using the wattage setting on it. Basically you can put a 1.8 ohm atty on it or a 3.0 ohm atty on it and the MVP will automatically adjust the power so you get a consistant vape. So if you set it to 6 watts, you'll get a 6 watt vape no matter what atty you put on it - hope that makes sense.

You've caught the bug though

Carl

Carl, start off with a single coil. Once you're confident, go for a double coil - to be honest, you may find a double coil is a bit too much. Forget the 4 coil and multiple coil builds, not only fiddly but to be honest their just for impressing people with massive vapour clouds - all you'll do is burn your juice. It won't be an enjoyable vape, just an excuse to fog up the room

Your Kayfun won't register on the MVP if your coil resistance is too low. Best to use a multimeter to check your coils for safety. Keep practicing with the coils mate, it does take a bit of time to get it right. Plus getting the right amount of wick in the coil makes a big difference too. How many wraps are you doing on the coil, what gauge wire and how much cotton do you use in the wick ?? If you can do a photo of the coil, that would be a big help :)
