:D got one of my orders today,

Update to follow.

Well got my tvs all brass mod today, with some 18350 batts, and some more liqua. I tried the tvs with one of the batts (only partially factory charged) with my V5 on top of it and ba boosh. What a terrific experience, my batts are now nearly at full charge and i can hardly wait.

Also decided to re-coil/wick my evods, using the ribbon wire. This stuff is revolutionary, so easy to use and get perfect results every time. I did five heads, 5 wraps over 3 mm silica, and every single one came out at 1.1 ohm. How is that for consistency ?

They are performing brilliant on my mech`s, and seriously the are nearly on par with the dripper. Lovely throat hit and masses of vapour.

I am currently experiencing vaping nirvana chaps.

Update on the protected batteries, They refuse to work with my low resistance evods:( They do fire, but won`t let me take a decent draw. but they work fine with my dripper which is also 1.1 ohm.

I am confused .com

Yeah thats the way to go,

I am guessing they will just send you the batteries you ordered (free of charge) :D

Edit... you will still enjoy your vamo, even with the sony`s

That would be awesome as I'm going to buy a vamo v2 today from the classys. Gonna be my work vamo(work in a factory).

Way to go mate, I'm jealous cos I didn't get any vapemail today, or yesterday :(

I'm definitely gonna get some ribbon, only problem is, I've still got 4 metres of wire from Liberty Flights and the new kanthal I got from vapegear so I could do with using some of that up first.

I find my protected batteries work great on standard resistance coils of 2ohm and above. But for anything under 1.5ohm, unprotected AW IMRs work a lot better. I think the protected batteries cut the current drain on low res coils, as part of the safety feature. In fact I used a protected 18350 on my Paps when I first got it, it worked great. But as soon as I put an AW IMR in the Paps, it worked amazingly. Even though my protected batteries have a higher mAh than my AWs - strange I know

Try an unprotected AW in it Terry, should fix the problem mate.

Second the Vamo ;)

My 510 adapters arrived this morning so only a couple of Attys outstanding plus the 8 diagrams but not expecting that too soon :p

Paul, did you get the 510s from FT ?

I found that the threading on mine isn't quite long enough to fit in all my devices. I'm still using them, but not on the Vamo or KTS because of this.

Terry is right, I have missed you :laugh:

Yeah i have got my protank on it with a 2.8 ohm, works fine.

Next time i get some new ones though, i will get the imr ones, the 18650 from torchy are great.

I've just got the 18650 Pannys from FT, the grey ones, they seem to last forever.

What sort of batts does torchy carry. I just got the 18350 AW IMRs from vapegear, they've got a really good selection there :thumb:

I'm on the hunt now for a compact tank/atty combo for the Paps, I think it deserves something high end. Was gonna use the ithaka on it, but can't do as you know. I'm looking for something that hold at least 2ml, doesn't leak, is rebuildable and looks totally sexy - any ideas

Torchy`s batteries are the imr safer chemistry, he has his own business in scotland so i am pretty sure he is trustworthy. I think i will pm him actualy to see if he does the 18350`s.

As for sexy tanks i would just pop over to the tanks sub forum and ask on there mate.

Sorry guys i have just been soooooooooooooooo busy. I found the thread to be a bit short but if you have a 7 x 0.5mm die then not a problem :vapor:

When I was looking for 350's on FT they only had about 3 types. I normally use 18350s during the day on my work mod. Always take the Vmod and the KTS+ in shorty mode to work.

GP do a couple of tanks to match the Paps, but to be honest, I'm not really that impressed by the looks of them. Think I will pop over to that sub-forum and have a look :D

Cheers Paul,
I'll have a root around in my toolboxes, should have a tap and die set in there somewhere

I found that using the backside of the die did not cut any more thread but did clean them up and they fit perfect so if you have something crappy to screw into you may get away with just forcing the thread in cleaning it out a bit? i'm using my evod on the UDT as we speak with one of the adapters all screwed down to the bottom.

Thanks Paul. If I can't find my dies, I might just use an old ego battery to do the job. I know with my Vamo the 510s won't work, as there's a lip above the threads on my Vamo, so the actual shanks on the 510s aren't quite long enough to catch on the threads of the Vamo. If that makes sense. Plus the threads on one of the 510s doesn't seem very deep, so a die would definitely fix that one. I know I've still got some compound for the dies, so I should be able to find the die set eventually.

If you have a few and get stuck, post em down and i will wip em through for you.

Cheers for that mate.

I'll have a look for the tap and die set tomorrow, so it shouldn't be a problem. I know I do have one, it's just finding it. My cupboard under the stairs is chockablock with tools from when I had the garage. I could do with selling some off really, I've got a compressor and loads of air tools that I'll probably never use again. Problem is, I don't like selling stuff, cos a month later I always find I need it for something.

Thanks for the offer anyway mate :D

Are we all ready for an update then :D

When I logged off last night the ithaka was really bugging me. So even though I was knackered decided to have another play with it. I found that when I was adjusting the brass positive post connector, it was unscrewing the whole positive post. Also the top washer on the positive post is only just big enough to seal the hole that it's supposed to.

Took it all apart and just left a single stock coil in there this time, got 1.0 ohm resistance. Added an old Evod gasket to the positive post, to create a better seal, closed up the juice return system and put it all back together. Had to centralise the positive post a little and added 1/2 a tank of juice, in case it was still leaking and left it overnight.

I was at this til gone 2am

This morning no leaks, that's a good start. Vaped the 1/2 tank, no leaks, gurgles or juice in the mouth. Filled it up 1/2 way again and vaped that - still good. Found the right airflow setting for me and juice control setting - perfect. Not an amazing vape, cos I think I need to re-wick it with dual coils, cos the stock one can't really keep up with chain vaping, but good enough for now.

So I've closed the ticket with FT and told them I've got it sorted

Then I got a bit cocky. Filled the tank to the top, opened the juice control more and closed up the air control almost all the way. Golf ball through a straw again, then gurgling, then juice in the mouth :(

At least now, I know how to fix it.

1). Re-coil with dual eko-wool wicks.
2). Don't overfill the tank.
3). Don't close the airflow, cos it creates a restriction in pressure, almost like squeezing a garden hose.
4). Don't open the juice control too far.

It's put to one side for now, I would not let this thing beat me and at least I know how to fix it now. I know this will be a great vape eventually, despite the teething problems

Also Paul, I've found my tap and die set, the 510s are all sorted now mate. They work on everything now. Thanks for the offer, Paul before. Much appreciated :toast:
