Apart from taking it out of the box giving it a quick check over and placing it on the shelf, I haven't touched it, and probably won't until I coil something up with the Ni-200

Youv`e got more patience than me bob, :D

Doth thou mean "Captain's Custard" CLS is Nicotickets one, I bought a bottle from Chefs a while back but haven't really tried it yet, the original SG one I had, I did like.
I just did a finger lick of ABC, CLS, Captain's and GVC and there is not a lot of difference in them with GVC being a slightly stronger taste.

Cheers bob, i know ian rates the SG one so i will put an order in later :)

The istick i had stuck in China is apparently at GBLALA,which after doing a search is the International sorting office at Heathrow.
How long does it take to come out of there?
When i tried to track on the RM website,it says this item can only be tracked after it has been registered as delivered,WHAT'S THE POINT OF THAT

 Good old royal mail george, Tis no wonder it`s falling apart.

Who on here has tried SG`s CLS ? The reason i ask is that i missed the bloody sale today for some GVC  By the time i remembered to order some, everything was out of stock :( I would even have got some zero nic if they had any left, as i love the taste so much ! so i am wondering what other custards come close to it ? It doesn`t necessarily have to be from steamgunk either :)

Word on the street is that GVC is mostly capella's vanilla custard. Apparently before it became such a sensation he posted his recipe (on a forum I guess) and then took it down at a later date. If you google it or search other forums you might find it. It's also on one of those DIY recipes sites I've seen. From memory it's capella's vanilla custard, someone's dulche de leche and something else.

Also to clarify I've never tried GVC and I don't know if this is 100% true. I've got some capella's VC steeping and while it needs longer it is pretty nice from my early tastes.

Nathan at cloud House did try earlier with no luck & said he'll try getting in touch with them tomorrow, but yes please, do try - thanks :): La Poste LE053877191FR

Tried all the ones I could including La Poste and everything is saying not found which could mean it is still somewhere in France - when was it shipped, I have had stuff from France take a few days before tracking becomes available, Track17 states it is an EMS packet, so could get delivered by ParcelFarce rather than RoyalFail when it does get to the UK. As it's the weekend I would try again on La Poste on Monday morning

Just did my first DNA40 Ni200 build!

Bob prepare yourself for a more fiddly building experience. Ni200 is not like kanthal. You'll see what I mean but it is not very rigid/springy at all, which is nice if you're trying to wrap it round a screw but frustrating as it loses its shape more easily. Also pulsing it to squeeze the coil together doesn't appear to work quite as well. I didn't try torching it before (don't have a torch!) or even using a lighter like I have done with thinner kanthal.

Anyway, tore the build out of my veritas that I'd been enjoying this evening up to the point when I decided to do this. Was going to replace that build with a Ni200 one as similar as possible to compare. The kanthal build was 25ga kanthal so I picked up the 25ga Ni200. Thinking the resistance is so low for Ni200 I added a few wraps and made it 2.4mm instead of 2mm to try and up the resistance.

It came out at 0.06 ohms, seemed to fire even though I thought the min Ni200 resistance the board could handle was 0.1 ohms but I didn't wish to push my luck so took it out. vaping 40W at 0.1ohms pulls exactly 20A, which happens to be the continuous discharge rating of the LG battery the rDNA 40 comes with.

Now the veritas isn't the most spacious RDA to work with so I was limited with the size of the coil I could make but tried again with 25ga, this time maybe 13 wraps and it came out at 0.07 ohms. Again seemed to fire but took it out anyway.

So tried again with the 0.3mm Ni200 (29ga), gave it 10 or 11 wraps and it came out at 0.14 ohms so that was fine, I was happy to use that. Like I said trying to fire it and squeeze the coil doesn't work so well, especially with temperature limitation on. The default setting it comes set to is 450F and at that the coil doesn't even get slightly red, it's a little weird when we're so used to kanthal glowing. So i tried turning it up to 600F and it glowed slightly red briefly but still wouldn't be squeezed neater very much. Then I turned off temperature control and then bam it glows very quickly, I then had some luck squeezing it together but still not as well as with kanthal. Also as the wire is thinner than I would normally use I had to be careful squeezing it as you can squeeze it out of shape quite easily and make the wraps overlap :(

Anyway I finally got it looking reasonable and wicked it with rayon. Turned the temperature control back on and had a go firing it with dry rayon. It's a bit weird when nothing happens (not sure what temp rayon chars at but I can confirm it seems ok at up to 470F).

Soaked the wick in blue moo and had a vape.

Considering how the coils don't even get slightly red it was again a bit weird when I was producing nice billowing clouds of delicious blueberry.

I've had a quick play going up and down the wattages and temperatures and it's pretty cool. I don't 100% understand how it produces more vapour at a higher power when the temperature is set to the same limit but I'm getting a great vape so I'll try and understand it better another day :) . When you are running a bit dry instead of that slight burnt taste that normally occurs and alerts you to drip some more the vapour just decreases. You still produce a little vapour but it's basically just air.

Anyway sorry for the long post guys well done for reading this far. Will be interested to see how you get on Bob. I might try making a monster 25ga coil in one of my RDAs with a bigger space for coils and use it that way.

I just tried tracking my sticks on royal crap, and it doesn`t even recognize the tracking number

It won't until it arrives at the Royal Fail Langley WDC (Worldwide Distribution Centre) and scanned into the system, normally takes about 24-36 hours after they depart China or Singapore, but sometimes longer if they get lots in or short of staff.

Thanks Bob. It was sent 21st. - Nathan couldn't get anywhere and I got 'not found' by using a translator to see how to track it from La Pose tite. Nathan said he'll try to get in touch with them tomorrow. Hope it gets here OK - €92! 15 items!

DIY flavouring drops Terry - Chefs do them too.

Mine still says received from customer!

Terry,i heard an old dear ask in the p.o if they could guarantee next day delivery. And the clerk said they no longer guaranteed delivery, let alone next day.
Surely she must have got that wrong or things are really bad.

Probably the latter george ! I have lost all faith in them since privatization mate.

I have been following a thread on UKV or POTV, can't remember which, and virtually everything you have said is what I have seen there, now after I typed that, I thought bugger has made me want to try it

So just built an 8 wrap 3mm dia coil using the stuff that came with it, so 0.3mm, didn't bother testing the resistance on the meter, just bunged it in the Magma, the only thing I had that didn't have a build in it, took me a few seconds to work out how to set temp to off, fired it up and it came in at 0.22 ohm, used my ceramic tweezers to tighten the coils whilst firing and when happy, put some cotton in, some MBV Lemon Bar, took the temp up to 410°F and it now shows 0.20 ohm and even at 8W WOW it didn't feel like anything was happening, but I could taste the flavour and lots of clouds, at 15w I can now feel some warmth from the coil, 20w a little warmer, and even at 30w it's not hot, but BOY the clouds are bigger the higher you go, tried upping it to 430°F, didn't want to take it any higher with cotton although it is not supposed to burn until 482°F from what I can see and it was great. :)
