I hope my wire arrives tomorrow, i have 3 orchids one still in the box, one on my ipv @ 0.8, and the other one on my Hana, also 0.8 build, but it doesn`t behave that way. It did read 0.8 till i put the wick in and filled it, now the ohms are jumping all over the shop, and it takes ages for it to heat up

So that will definitely be getting the treatment :) I might even try a single coil build in one of them !

I had it with Playboy clothing when I had my shop. I used to buy the genuine items direct from their authorised UK distributor. Then one day a rep that I'd been buying discount ranges from, offered me some identical Playboy items at a quarter of the price. Bought a couple of samples from him and at home checked them against my legitimate stock. They were identical in every way. Not clones, they were 100% genuine. So I know it happens in all areas not just e-cigs ;)

Made in China - guarantees quality these days

I think the companies producing authentic goods have their own r&d

departments so have a vested interest in quality products that will have

a longer term market value, but once the cloners get hold of the products

they are reverse engineered and cost cutting corners are cut in the knowledge

that enough consumers will buy them for a profit to be made, no need for longevity

they'll just move on to the next big thing

I'm sure you'll get it sussed out mate :)

You've got to love China. No problems with copyright infringement. I see they recently did a clone of the Land Rover Evoque

Like you say though, it's all about supply and demand. As soon as the demand dries up, they move onto something else.

Yesterday when i googled single coil build on the orchid, i was sent to this forum  Anyhoo, there was a guy in the states who had posted some pics and described how he did his. So a single coil over one of the air holes, thread the wick, then the tails of the wick he tucked one either side of the positive block, to the juice channels on the opposite side of the coil. he reckoned it worked very well that way, removing the need to block off the 2 redundant channels. :)

I thought of taking 4 wicks from the coil but reading how temperamental the orchid can be put me off

never thought of what that guy did

Yeah, it looked like he had used cotton vinnie, a little bit tucked on the coil side From the centre of the wick then just feed the tails along either side of the pos block, and in to the other 2 channels. :) If i get chance tomorrow i will have a crack at it !

Seeing as what you said, I have just been looking at some of the comments, and it looks like some people have been sending them back having problems with them and that is why FT have discontinued selling both the T6 and T8, think it may affect people who are trying to max them out though, overheating etc. Cloupor are saying that there will be a software upgrade for them, so as I am not having any problems with it, will wait and see what comes up on their FB page.

Doesn't sound good. I read about loads of people applying a software update to their T5 i think it was and it would fry the board.

Hot Spot causes that, take the wick back out, and dry burn it squeezing the coils up and use a blue screwdriver to give it a wiggle about until you get rid of it.

Thanks bob, if i chance for a play about tomorrow i will try that :) I think it`s because it`s 30 gauge wire, so bloody fiddly to get right, especially with duals. Sorry for the delay in replying, i was reading your siggy.:lol:

Yeh, I hate thin wire as well, if I have to use it, I try to go with real low ohms, like my 0.26 build 2 x 0.52 so not too many wraps

Now, where is that tin of red spray paint
Aye, that'll do!

Yes Todd always seems to be using it in his reviews, let me know trish ! And if you can give a comparison to the GVC, that will be great. :)
Oh right! ...so, just for you, I did - Goose Juice - mine beautifully dark after steeping what's left since May/June: gone very thick and tasted awful! (the other two aren't as thick though and I haven't tried them tonight)
Grants: Much better, and from early June. My advice: wait a while! ;)

I'm more concerned with performance and reliability Trish
To be honest I'm not sure I totally trust the first of anything, but hey-ho.
Mentioning IPV 'mini' had me looking to see how it compared in size. As far as MVP is concerned, to me they're different - they're larger and more solid and that button definitely needs fixing ..hopefully in the v3! As it is now, it's a workhorse ..steady and dependable. iStick is small, neat, tactile, attractive and works very well even if it does have the odd idiosyncrasy.

It's not all about size you know
The best things come in small packages! nods yes smilie.gif

Thanks Trisha. Pretty certain it's just a cold. I've been popping paracetamol today, which normally works for me. I'll have a nice hot bath later and stick the thermals on again for bed.

One thing I have noticed though, since I started vaping, cold symptoms aren't anywhere near as bad as when I was smoking :D
I luckily haven't needed to find out yet! Can say that when I get any stress and IBS kicks in, it's not as bad as it used to be when I smoked!

Sometimes family members, especially ones that have married into the family, can be a real nightmare. I tend to avoid one of my Brother in Laws for this reason, he'll say things that annoy me, but half of the time, I don't even think that he realises he's wound me up. I just stay away for that reason :(
It's hard when you try to keep everything on an even keel. Today's outburst was 'enjoyed' by three of us! So another day wrecked by others thoughtlessness.

Best way to do it. If in doubt, always go for the one in the middle
I don't worry too much if I go for the middle option because I can add more .6mg VG or add more flavour! Simples!

That sounds really interesting. May have to pick that flavouring up next time I order.
I like it - it's not a thick chocolate/over sweet taste. I think it could take a bit of custard in it for a change now and then too - perhaps even strawberry.

Just checked and my MBV order has already landed in the UK. That's bloody quick, considering I only ordered it on Friday :D
My last one was fast too :)

So what's this new "Post Like/Thanks" thing all about, just under everyone's post count - could be the reason why the forum was down earlier.
Think, I'll ponder this over food. Back later
It is new and 'in progress' - no firm explanation of how it works though so far.

The price was exactly my thoughts on the Nautilus clone, as for the BVD someone in the comments suggested it might mean "design" to show it is a clone or just a TYPO
Well, seeing they have the mesh inside, I got a pack of them when I ordered some BVC and V2 today ...we'll see!

Yep, I noticed that too mate. Wonder if the down arrow, is a "dislike" option. If so, I'll be using that on the posts where Terry was picking on me
The one thing said is that it does not have a dislike button. I'm thinking it's just for an option between liking something and thanking someone for a reply to help requested.

It wouldn't be the first time George. In my other life, when I was self employed, I saw a lot of items that were made in the same factory, on the same machines, by the same people, sold to one supplier for one price and to another supplier for half the price. The only difference was the logo :)
In my former life I also bought a fair bit of stuff from China - huge difference between that and UK or EU brands ..bet they were made in the same or similar factories too!

So you are saying that the goose juice from may/june has gone off trish ?

George, another update on the T8 problems, it appears there has been a lot of testing done on those that have been bought and they don't reach anywhere near 150w more like 75w, on the FB page someone has posted a chart showing what he achieved with it and once you get above 20w then it starts losing watts, and maxes out around the 75w mark, that can of course be fixed with a software update, but from what i also gather the T5 update fried some of the boards, so not good news there.

I posted a comment on the FT forum as it has been over a week since they said they would look into the problem and haven't come back, saying that "maybe they should offer a part refund to those of us that would like to keep them but don't think they are getting their moneys worth" so we'll see how that pans out - worth a try :)

Yep, basically a new `like` button  Have you seen THESE bob ?

I hadn't, and No I will not be buying one - I've queried them because the buttons don't look right - they are more like Hana buttons than IPV ones, and they still have a screw on door, thought it was going to be magnetic, also no logo on the door - either their pictures are crap or it's not a Pioneer

EDIT just checked their site and the buttons have been changed since they brought out the 2S
