Now we know where the avatar came from

- I went to an exhibition at Llewellyn Alexander once when I was working at Waterloo, as it was only across the road from the station, never bought anything though, most of them were well outside my pay grade
Not many photos of me about ...I absolutely hate having my photo taken!
Llewellyn's was the first gallery I showed with after the art society I was with. They insisted that they had to have been submitted to the Royal Academy and that they'd then consider them for their 'Not The Royal Academy' annual show.
Upshot was, one got accepted for the Royal Academy and the other two were accepted by Llewellyn's ..and all subsequently sold.
I worked with them for a good few years - they're in a good position opposite the Old Vic, so stay open late because of that.
They're the most higgledy piggledy gallery I've been in because of all the stock they carry, but very nice people
You are indeed
Thank you George!
I just had a look also and that's some talent, they are fantastic.
Thanks to you too! I always appreciate such comments
Astonishing, fine art at its' finest, and I'm allowed to say that because art is in the eye of the beholder
How much did I want to bite into one of those plums and wash it down with a sip of that fine tawny brandy
apart from your staggering brushwork your eye for composition and subject matter is fantastic
Thanks for that Trish
You're welcome and thank you. They eye of the beholder is all that matters ..the how and technical aspect is irrelevant if it pleases people

In the earlier years, I used to worry about composition and try to understand the complex diagrams instructors would draw ...then, a gallery owner told me I have a natural eye for both composition and colour, and it was one of those 'Wow, I am a swan' moments. I stopped worrying over what were basically mathematical details, and although composition does need some careful thought, it usually turns out right
It can take around 60-80 hours to paint one depending on whether small or medium, and they're built up in thin layers, of colour, detail and glazes. I can get lost in a painting for hours given the chance
Got to begin preparing work for next years solo exhibition now, interspersed with a few for spring art fairs etc.
Have to get a whole years accounts done first though ...because there's not large quantities of items to deal with, it's not the entering of them and emailing files, it's gathering together all the stuff they want and scanning things like statements! It's a pain.
