Good evening all.

I've been trying out my smok carto tank today... I'm a bit disappointed as i thought the flavour would be a bit stronger. No fault of the tank... i guess it's the carto. I think the carto is a smok, but not sure - its just the one that came with it so i will get some boges from vape escape tomorrow. I also noticed that at 2ohms i am having to up the voltage to about 4.5 for a decent hit. I am normally happy on 3.7 for anything between 2 - 2.8 and usually drop it down to 3.3 for a 1.8.

I think i will do as you suggest ian and go with the aga :) Shame VE dont have them in stock at the moment or i would have picked one up. I think i will put the big boaby on hold until ive found a carto im happy with - might need to get a carto punch if none of the pre-punched ones seem up to it.

It might need a bit of breaking in first Cody. Some set ups can need a ml or so before they fully settle down.

I got my aga t2 from Liberty Flights mate, their pretty quick on postage too. Just make sure you go for the right option when ordering, cos if I remember right they have 3 different versions :) Todd does a great review, if you want to see a video for the set-up.

Hi All,

Back from my holiday and got my package from FT.

Just completed my first 24 hours smoke free and feeling good about it, I cant see my self going back.

I've tried so far - fixed fruit, ok ish. Dr Pepper, alittle better and red bull, better again but not brill. I got about 9 others to try.

Quick question, where am I going wrong with this.

I take off the top, put about 4/5 drops in and tork about 30 times but nothing only a tiny bit of flavor.

Any ideas?

I was hoping it might just be a settling down period :)

I may pop in to the LF in Darwen tomorrow if i get chance and pick up an aga. I've watched a good few vids on how to wrap coils now so feeling fairly confident. I think that Todd was one of the reviews i watched along with Scott and PBusardo.

The trouble with my visit to VE and LF tomorrow is that they sell provaris and VE have the colour / LED combos that i like in stock... uh oh!

Sorry, i havent got a clue on your RDA but i am sure someone here will have a tip or two for you! Well done on the first 24 hours though. Personally, i think that is the biggest step.

Best thing to do with a dripper at first, is to do the dripping then leave it to stand for 5 minutes or so, then vape it.

With a dripper less is more. Don't put too much in or it won't vape properly. Make sure your airhole is lined up with the wick.

But most important is to check the coil is firing properly and the resistance is right. The stock coils from FT can be a bit hit and miss to be honest. Make sure the coils are firing properly. I normally re-wick most attys from FT when I get them.

Terry is the dripping master, so he'll probably give you a few pointers too. I'm off to bed soon, early start tomorrow :(

Just leave your credit card at home, only take cash, that way you can resist the temptation

Ian has pretty much covered everything mate,

You need to build a decent coil, preferably using ribbon wire. Then i just need to correct ian, with the fact that you need to line up the coil with the airhole ( i am sure thats what he meant ) there is also loads on you tube if you get stuck. just get that coil directly lined up with the airhole.

Looks like you're good to go mate. Might take a couple of tries to get the aga coils perfect, but it's well worth the effort.

Bet that bagua hits like a train :p

I hope i can get up and running with the aga soon and have a play with the ba gua. I'd never seen (or perhaps not noticed) the gold ones before, but really liked the look of them and luckily when i called it was the last one :)

The aga came with the steel mesh, but i am thinking it's probably easier to start with silica wick and kanthal - I was going to buy some 0.2mm kanthal and 2mm silica wick - does that sound about right? Ithought i would ask the resident oracles here first ;)

Hey cody,

If you are new to building coils, I would definitely suggest going with the ribbon wire (cant go wrong mate) very easy to work with.
And get yourself some ekowool, instead of silica.

I just ordered some today from here.http://www.vape-atomizer-mesh.com/products/Ribbon-Wire.html get your ribbon and if you look at the top of the page where it says other wicking materials, you can get ekowool.

Cheers Terry. I'll get myself some of that soon :)

To be honest, i'm a bit daunted by the Aga... i just took it out of the packet to have a look at and all these tiny little nuts were falling out of it... i can roughly see where they are supposed to be, but it looks a really delicate steady-handed job to get it back together again! Seems a world away from the protanks and vivi novas where you do pretty much sod all.

I got a little direct dripping atomiser that i like though... so simple just dripping a couple of drops in for such a nice flavour and big vapour - I'm surpised these arent more popular with people new to vaping as they seem the simplest thing going and great for trying new flavours.

I'm enjoying the wait for my ba gua now... like being a kid at christmas again! :)

Did you manage to get your x9 tanks sorted or have you given up on them? I was reading that a few people drill out the airhole on the aga aswell, but some of those people cocked it up and broke the tank so there will be no meddling from me!

I was a bit daunted myself at first with all the screws and stuff, but if you look at it logically, you won't need to touch some of the screws for a single coil. If you do a single vertical coil to start with, all you will need is the centre positive post (which has 3 nuts on it), one open hole to slot the wick into and one screw for your negative coil connection. I actually run mine with the negative terminal removed (Todd removes it in one of his videos for a u shaped coil).

If you look at where the coil will sit, it's pretty straight forward. When doing a vertical coil, leave the bottom 2 nuts on the positive post in place and use the third nut to clamp the positive coil connection.

Hope that makes sense, once you start building, it will all fall into place.

Thought you were joking about the gold bagua Cody

So you've actually bought one, did you get it from vapist ??

Terry's right ekowool is better than the silica, you just need to torch the ends when you cut it, cos it tends to fray quite easily.

Nope, no joking... i just noticed it on vapist last night and thought it looked a lot nicer in gold and as the price difference was £25 i went for it and it made it that bit more sweet that it was the last one :)

I think i spent a bit much on the charger though... £35 but i think its a safe bet and i have a feeling i might be getting a few batteries for more mods soon too ;)

It's not sounding like goobledygook any more so that's progress for me! I'll order that wire terry pointed me towards and some ekowool either tonight or tomorrow and hopefully i can then have a good crack at getting at least one coil sorted before the end of the week.

Does this look ok as a multimeter or am i better off going for something more expensive?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/DT830B-Digi...F8&qid=1380141195&sr=8-15&keywords=multimeter

I have got absolutely no clue how to use these things so if some of the more expensive ones make it easier then i dont mind paying up to £20.

And a big thank you to you and Terry for all the invaluable advice you have given :)
