Disappointed with FT.

There is no way to put this thing together safely. I'm pretty handy figuring stuff like this out but this is just stupid.

I'm hoping there's a missing part or some fix but this is no bueno as is.

The taste test is a great way of accessing flavours Trisha, their all food grade flavours so they won't poison you ... much
I won't worry about tasting them - just hoping I end up with something worth using!

Been using the Quacks stuff today - Goose juice & Gizzard not bad at all, but the menthol one isn't very exciting!
I see there's a fourth one in the Grizzly range at Spiritus: Sunrise. States it's Blueberry, Honey & Menthol. I rather like their Polar Bear, so may try that one at some point, but I've not had a blueberry one yet that I really like.

FT gave me the rest of the credit for the batteries they didn't send, so that's good :)

That's very true! :)

So, did you eventually get to Lisbon?
Madrid was really nice - good mix of culture, old buildings, shops, good restaurants, art galleries etc. Bit hot though in early August - was still 29C at 11pm! Plus, no-one spoke English ...once I realised it was similar to French in some ways, I got by.
Husband was working, so during the day I was pretty much on my own for 4 days and then the company gave us an extra two days because they'd called him in from our own holidays! (We were only pottering about at home.) :)

We once had a holiday in the 60's, the year before we were married, with two friends where we set off for Cornwall, stayed in a number of places from Dorset to Cornwall to Devon and then up to London and nothing booked or planned ...just stayed where we ended up each day - totally brilliant!

Yes, had booked the next night's train so was only a day late getting to Lisbon, in those days I never booked anything, so didn't lose out, found myself a decent hotel and spent a week there, before heading back home via Paris. The nearest I have got to Cornwall is Plymouth, now that I have given up smoking the train journey down to Cornwall won't be so bad, so it will have to be on my to do list.

Ordered a dremmel style multi tool with grinding discs etc. There's some attys I want to open the airholes more on (they need a bit more finesse than a full size drill can give), plus I want to experiment with brushing some mod parts, as well as opening up the wicking channels on a couple of my Kayfuns. Also want to have a try at engraving some plain tubes I've got. So the multi tool will get some use :D

---------------------------------

Finally, I've heard a lot of talk about rayon as a wicking material. It's supposed to be even better than cotton for wicking ability, easier to work with and gives even better flavour when set up right. So I've ordered some, but the sort I needed is coming from the USA, so it will be a while before it gets here. I'll do a side by side comparison with cotton when it gets here.

-----------------------------------------------

So I've had a busy day researching today

Been busy spending again as well, so have I ordered 2 4nines and the Brass/gold Astro along with a couple of tips and some magnets from FT then went on to MechMode and bought a 69, GUS and Poldiac, got to increase my collection , I got a cheapy dremel lookalike from JML a few years ago, works okay for what I need although I had to widen the smallest one of the drill bit holders to take the bits I had, the others were too big.

Thanks again Ian

I'll try the shop and maybe drop Innokin a line if I get no joy. I do like the vv very much after all.

Then again I'm off to Cyprus at the end of the month to see my parents and there's an Innokin reseller in Paphos where the prices look cheaper than I can get off eBay. Still not as good as Fasttech but if I ordered now from Fasttech, I'd be doubtful about it arriving in time.

Have you thought about going for something different like the Vision Spinner v2

It's nice to just go somewhere and decide to stay or move on ...we once did that in Scotland ...ended up parking the car up and jumping on the ferry to Arran and stayed there two days! It was spur of the moment and seemed all the nicer for it!

I loved the Gulbenkian in Lisbon ...never before had I seen so many masterpieces from so many eras & ages under one roof!

It's remarkable how liberating exchanging cigarettes for e-cigs can be especially where travel is concerned! I just hope trains, restaurants etc. don't install vapour detectors in the loos! - No doubt someone will invent one! (I'm pretty sure I wouldn't use one in public in case some unenlightened fool decided I was trying to poison them!)

Oh! I use mine in public all the time, even on the trains and planes (stealthily though on the latter), but not on buses, too many cameras these days on those, so far no problems, out in the local street once, some weird woman waved her hands thinking I was smoking, I just gave her a real funny look as though to say "W T F".

On a train for instance, does no-one object or pull faces? ...how do you do it in stealth with the vapour? I'd probably choke myself trying not to blow it out! :D

I'd be OK with a small cigarette type one outside though. I was really upset when I realised I couldn't use PG because the cartridges were all PG (never did get it right with refilling them) ...but, there's now a UK e-cig with pre-filled cartridges that use only VG! So, I'll get one of the batteries and a few cartridges for when I'm out! They're far easier to slip into coat or jeans pockets etc. and they don't leak at all.

I mainly stealth vape, by double inhaling and then blowing it out downwards so hardly any vapour comes out, best to use a juice that doesn't produce massive clouds though.

I wouldn't be seen dead with a cig-a-like, not powerful enough and looks like a cig, the smallest one I have is a 1100mAh eGo, which fits nicely in the top pocket of my jackets, but it was one of my main reasons for getting both the Billet Box and the MVP, they fit in my trouser pockets or I have a belt pouch they can go in.

I will try not too pour too much scorn on the cigalikes as i did get into vaping through them, but they are in most cases, way way over-priced based on their ridiculous claims of each carto being equal to anything between 20 and 40 analogs, which we all know is BS.

If you have a fresh fully charged battery and a new unused carto, then they arent bad for the first (lets say) 5 analogs worth of vaping, but after that they are junk. I went from disposable cigalikes to a rechargeable cigalike set, which i very soon got p'd off with as i was charging batteries endlessly throughout the day and batteries (£10 each) werent even lasting an hour after a week or so.

Fortunately, i didnt give up on ecigs, but i guess the bad side to cigalikes is that many smokers may try them - find them ok at first, but then get annoyed with them and not seek out better alternatives and instead go back to smoking, which is a real shame.

So it is possible to manage stealth! :)
My cig type ones were black, blue & red and I really didn't mind them. Thank goodness I tried them anyway! :D I had enough batteries to never be without a charged one, and even if it had cost the same as cigarettes I'd have carried on because it was a revelation to me that I could actually not smoke!
After almost 50 years since I first tried a cigarette, that was an amazing achievement for me.

I would rather have nothing, if I only had the choice of nothing or cig a like, as a cig a like does not do it at all for me, and would make me want something more, so would be to tempting no vape shop but lots of papershops and supermarkets no to tempting for me.
If I had a cig type one with a slightly higher nicotine content, it would be sufficient on a short outing or one up to some hours. If I was using zero nicotine, I'd probably not bother. I was waiting for my husband having a procedure done in a hospital a couple of months ago, and altogether, we were in there a few hours until he was recovered enough to go home ...I had one with me but didn't feel the need to use it which for me was rather amazing! ...with cigarettes, I was fidgeting to go and have one somewhere after an hour!

I think I'd be more comfortable with things like an eGo outside if we hadn't had all the silly fuss about not using them in public places - it's obvious that we still have people who have been led to believe that they're not safe or not good to use. Very ignorant and misinformed yes, but I can be easily intimidated by such people. Hopefully, in time, things will quieten down and they'll be accepted easier.

I suppose with me working at home and not needing to go out every day, I don't ever see other people using them ...can't say I've seen anyone when walking the dog either.
If I worked in town then I'd probably see more people using them and not feel self conscious about it.

Thanks for the advice Bob, It's only vv and not vw but I found one on eBay for only 19.99 with a Kanger MPT2 thrown in as well.

And it's the rainbow version :)

Damn I must stop spending money on vaping kit.

Cig-a-likes? They got me vaping. DSE-103s with automatic batteries. I still think that the atomisers delivered good vape - but even a hint of liquid in the battery and it would die. I used to carry 8 around in a pouch expecting 6 of them to run out of power over the day, one of them to die and one of them to just act up. We are so lucky nowadays! :)

I just saw these at FastTech....
$56.00 HANA MODZ Pack DNA 30 Style Mod - 1*18650 / 7W-30W at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Looks like they come with a battery in them. I can't see how a tank fits onto them. Could I still use my Proanks and Unitanks on one of those?

It looks like a 510 connector rather than an EGO, you'll need a converter but you will be able to fit your toppers.

I can't find any on Fasttech, I'm sure someone else can do better.

I need them for my nemesis mod but I bought mine from eBay

They were certainly of value to me! :)
Working at home, I spend most of my time here, so using a small one like those out and about isn't a problem for me and they're less noticeable. I mostly used the V2 and GreenSmoke ones and didn't have any problem with them.

Ah right! If they're the same type/fitting as the ones we can get here, then they are 510. Are those on Ebay the right ones? I've never needed to use an adapter for anything before.

Mike, the original chi you is exactly the same as is the chi you clone. You just need to use a battery that has the wrap that extends around the bottom of the negative pole. But, if like me, you generally have batteries where the wrap stops at the bottom of the battery body, just get a basic rubber o-ring to fit in the switch. As long as the o-ring sits slightly higher in the switch than the firing pin and doesn't impede the switch action, you'll be fine. That's what I did in my chi-you clone, works a treat. If you can find a delrin washer to fit, better still. When I first got my chi-you, I had the same auto-firing issue. Until I popped a washer in there, I had to keep unscrewing the switch between vapes.

I won't worry about tasting them - just hoping I end up with something worth using!

FT gave me the rest of the credit for the batteries they didn't send, so that's good :)

I'm sure it will work out for you Trisha, there's plenty of info on flavour percentages out there.

Glad to hear FT updated the credit too. Their pretty good with CS problems normally.

My dremmel clone arrived today, quite impressed with it. The kit I ordered was supposed to have 88 pieces, the one I received had 192 - that's a bonus :D They upgraded the order for free as they'd run out of the smaller kit. Came in it's own carrying case, with all the bits, cutters, wheels, polishers, spare chucks and even a flexible shaft for engraving work. Plus this one has a better variable speed range too and a higher wattage motor - really impressed with it :D Cost me a third of the price of the similar dremmel version, plus I got a lot more extras.

I pick up my information quick Ian as I get it form the master keep up your good work mate I may end up a master 1 day :toast:

One day the student may become the master

Oh! I vape everywhere and anywhere. Vape loud and vape proud  The only exception is, I wouldn't vape next to someone in a restaurant that was eating - even when smoking was allowed anywhere, I would never do this, I do have some morals :laugh:

So it is possible to manage stealth! :)

As Bob said double inhale - that's what I do in the Cinema and on the plane. Just take a reasonable draw and inhale deep into the lungs, wait a second or two and inhale again, so you completely fill your lungs. Hold this for a few seconds and exhale slowly. I can do this and produce no vapour at all. Or vape as normal and either blow it down your baggy jumper or into a hot cup of coffee :D

Guess I'm lucky, I see loads of people vaping. Still get the odd idiot that gives the fake cough, sometimes I'll offer them a try at my Vmod, cos their smokers cough sounds really bad, or I'll blow out an even bigger cloud to give them something else to "cough" at

You'll be fine Trisha, you don't need an adaptor for the FT Hana mod, it's a standard 510 connector and your Pro/Unitanks have a 510 fitment.
