My son used to say I was paranoid about such things and also security ...he soon changed his mind after losing a drive and later getting cash stolen via a hacked Paypal account!
I say, if a threat exists, try to avoid it.
We'll never avoid all unforeseen problems with computers, but we can at least try!
Exactly. To me W8 looks like a social media toy compared to a serious workplace computer. They really do need to get their heads around the fact that there are two types of computer user, and allow people the choice.
This new Lumia 625 has a W8 interface! ...as far as I can see without being able to use it properly, it isn't a big problem on a phone.
Yes, good universal coverage should indeed be in place by now! I very rarely use the phone, so topping up is a rare occurrence. I have £69 credit on the old one, so I'm hoping I don't end up fighting to get that transferred!
I did as Orange told me on the phone this morning: went to the Carphone warehouse (I'd phoned before going and was told yes, they could change the sim and get it activated for me) ...got there and the chap in charge told me no, they can't. I had to go to the next town and the EE shop!
At least the chap there seemed to know what he was doing. He tested the phone, then got a new sim and phoned Orange ...lady was obviously making things hard for him and he repeatedly had to tell her that he was a staff member and all she had to do was arrange the change-over. Eventually, he said an exasperated thank you and hung up. He assured me it'll be working ..probably in a few hours, but anything up to 24. I'll believe it when I see it!
You have indeed, and Ian, as always has been an absolute gentleman
..as has Terry, bless him
Only absolutely still if dead

....you'll probably know that the French is 'Nature Morte'
Oh yes ...can almost hear him now that you mention it!

Priceless!
