Same here Terry. I've not used a protank for months now.

You know what ian, i think i paid £16.00 for mine, persevered with it for a couple of weeks trying bloody every trick in the book to get it working right. It went straight to the bin after that, i was totally pi**ed off with it. Your juices are on the way as well mate.

I had the cheapo FT ones and one original that I got from vape escape. I was happy enough with them, the gurgling didn't bother me. I just prefer more flavour and that's what I get with my set ups now :D Hooray, new juices, can't wait mate :D

Yes i have heard. :p

You been chatting to my Wife ??

No trish is the answer to that :) But only because i don`t need to. A long time ago i used to use the protanks etc, but like a lot of folk, soon got fed up with them gurgling leaking etc, so i just moved on to kayfuns, and have been a happy bunny ever since. :D
From what I've seen, they aren't easy, and the material in them is something different - can't remember what it is ...perhaps oiled cotton and ceramic - not sure now, but someone asked Aspire, and it's something along those lines that they were told.
My mPT2's have been fine, and I've just started using a bigger PT2 for the Posset today ...so far, so good! The Unitanks are another matter and they leak and gurgle ...sadly, I have 9 of them - 5 unused! They were brilliant at first, but there's three that aren't, and today I put a new coil in one and it started leaking and gurgling right away! Perhaps a bad box of coils ..not sure.

Bit late back to the party.

Trisha, the business I had was the shop, website, ebay and another couple of auction sites. I was selling underwear, nightwear and hosiery. if anyone asked me what I did for a living, I said, I was into Women's underwear
Oh, right! OK then
Oh, I also had a garage as well. Proper entrepreneur  Ended up doing too much, working 18 hour days, 7 days a week, it was slowly killing me. When my business rates and rent doubled in 2009, I thought enough is enough. Sold off the shop and stock, ended the rental agreement on the garage and closed my on-line businesses - went driving buses instead
....and I'll bet you're far happier doing that! That was a lot of hard work running two businesses!
We were going to open our own gallery when my husband retired, but by that time, I was working well with a couple if galleries, and we decided we didn't need the pressure of running a business too. Never regretted that decision. Recession has killed off a lot of gallery trade and it's slow to come back ..can but hope and do my best! :)

My order arrived from Nicoticket today - only posted last Thursday evening, so 5 days in the postal system! That's a record. I got the PBC Reloaded (Peanut butter cookie - second edition) I got 50ml of the original version in max VG and 30ml of the new one (50/50 PG VG) in 18mg. That way, mixing up to 1/3 of the new with the zero nicotine old version, I get a .6mg very high VG. It's made me wheeze a bit, but I'm not sure if it's the flavouring or the PG. We'll see - but it's delicious! I really like it :)

Adam just a few pics for you mate. As you can see i have juiced up the rayon and stuck it to the block just above the juice channels.

Adam, looks like Terry beat me to it. The way he describes it is spot on. Only difference for me, I still fill through the fill screw, but I leave at least a 5mm air gap. Also, I trim the rayon to a V shape, so it's thicker where it enters the coil and the tip of the V just touches the horizontal part of the deck. Don't have the wick twisted, all the fibres need to be in-line in the wick, you can obviously twist the very end of the wick to get it through the coil. It does need to be a lot denser than cotton. It should take you at least twice as long to wick with rayon as it does with cotton. If the wick slides through to easy, there's not enough of it.

Thanks guys. By the time I read this I had already re wicked it using the same technique as before, bending the rayon so it lies flat stuck to the 'wall', although this time I used more rayon and had it tighter in the coil. This time I filled it from the top and didn't fill it so high, then flipped it as i screwed the top on as Terry suggested (and I re watched a pbusardo video on it) aaaaand this time it seems to work fine. Difficult to describe but feels less wet than before and I get no dry hits, put some twisted by CV in and have been enjoying it at about 10W on my SVD. Flavour isn't quite up there with my recent dual coils in an RDA but it's really not that far off and I get plenty of vapour (although again not as much as an RDA).

Pleased with that, not sure if I will find the time to try the magma before I go on 'holiday' on Friday.

Yes it certainly sounds like them coils are not meant to be rebuilt trisha, as for the uni`s, well what can i say, maybe they would be ok with a decent wick, rayon or cotton.

That's the problem with this vaping lark, takes months to nail down the perfect set up.

Some coil heads just seem like too much hassle to rebuild. I had a go at taking one of the Vmod attys apart a few weeks back - absolutely no chance of me redoing them.

Towards the end of being self employed I sat down and worked out how much I was earning - it was about £4 an hour - just not worth it for all that hassle. Then there were problems with staff not turning up, having to restock at least 4 times a week from 12 different suppliers, plus I did my own VAT and tax returns too :( Now when I finish work for the day, I know I've finished for the day - if you know what I mean.

I looked at the PBC, but to be honest, I'm not really a fan of peanut butter. The cookie bit sounds good though :D

What does the wattage go up to on your svd adam ? if you can put it higher, do so. Ian told me to do this with rayon as it won`t burn, so get cranked up mate.:D Where are you off to on friday ??

Glad you got it sorted mate. There's a real learning curve with rayon, but once you crack it, it's a real eureka moment. When it's spot on, you'll get no dry hits, you can crank up the power and it's the most saturated and flavourful vape ever.

Well i've been getting good flavour at 10W so I just didn't feel like going higher today at least!

The SVD goes up to 15W in VW mode and if I understand it correctly, for a 1.5ohm coil such as in the kayfun, using VV mode up to 6V will get you around 24W (I presume just because the VW mode only goes to 15W doesn't mean that a higher wattage in VV mode would be capped).

By my calculations (or rather a website's) a freshly charged battery in my nemesis should give around 35W with a 0.5ohm coil as is currently in my trident, and although it's different in an RDA rayon is waaaay better at avoiding dry hits in that set up (i've tried cotton and rayon, now just use rayon).

I'm off back home to Cornwall for a week to see friends and family which is why I called it a 'holiday'. It is but it is 'home' as well so not quite the same if you follow me.

I've got my Vamo at max wattage with the rayon, it really can handle twice the power cotton can. As long as the rayon is wicking properly, pump up that power Adam

Went to Cornwall a couple of times on family holidays, St. Newlyn East, if I remember right. There was a tree there that grew out of the church wall, supposedly cursed that if anyone tried chopping it down they'd meet a grizzly end. My Dad wanted to take a picture of us under it, my Mum wouldn't let us anywhere near it, in case we damaged it

-------------------

Bed time for me now anyway. Enjoy your hols mate :D

I have had holidays in both torquay and newquay many moons ago, it reaaly is a lovely part of the world adam, have a nice time mate. As you say, better to wait till tomorrow before going any higher with the watts, as you will be getting a big nic hit before bed, not a good idea.

But i would just crank it up a bit at a time, till you get to the spot you like best.:) I only use mechs, and ian worked it out for me that i vape at around 12.6 watts, and it`s pretty good indeedy.:p

Bob, what do you think of your Vmod mate ?? I tend to use mine all day at work. Do you use the AMG hybrid attys in yours ??

Yes, like it, use it for a few puffs daily along with the other 19 that I have on the go at the moment, it still has the carto in it that it came installed with, also good for when I'm out and about, as I only have to carry a spare battery, presume the AMG hybrid atty is the other one that came with it when I bought it, if so haven't got round to using it yet, but will do when the carto eventually fails, I bought the Camo casing from a company over here to go with it as well.

Yes, possibly. I've put them in a drawer until I get some. Ian's going to make me some :)

Certainly made me chuckle!

Some coil heads just seem like too much hassle to rebuild. I had a go at taking one of the Vmod attys apart a few weeks back - absolutely no chance of me redoing them.
Looks like both Aspire and Kanger had that very thing in mind when they made their new coils ..or was it to give us better flavour etc. ? ...Hmm! ;)

Even for me being a sole trader/self employed, it's fatal to work out how much I earn per hour.
My materials are the best there is in paint, mediums, brushes, linen, varnish, framing, and even the art carrier I use.
All adds up, and then the tax man wants 1/4 of it and the accountant costs me around £650 each year ..they do my tax return for me though, so I'm grateful because they always get it absolutely right.
Each painting can take 60-80 hours depending on size and content, so working out my hourly wage isn't something I'm even going to think about!

I looked at the PBC, but to be honest, I'm not really a fan of peanut butter. The cookie bit sounds good though :D
I'm not either, but this doesn't remind me of it (long time back though) at all. It's roasted peanuts, butter and cookies in that order, and I keep wanting to go back to it. It's only in a miniPT2 on a Spinner ll at around 3.7v. I set it at around 4 at first but had to turn it down as it tasted a bit 'off'.
I can't use it for all day because it makes me wheeze ..not sure if it's the butter flavouring or the extra PG perhaps ...not much extra PG though as it's a 0mg max VG mixed with 25-33% with the 50/50 new version at 18mg.
Seeing some of the caramel, vanilla, custard flavours irritate me, it's likely the butter because it usually has the same irritants in it too. Still, I like it so will use it frequently but with care. It's lovely with a cup of tea, and I daresay it would be good with a glass of cold lager!

Like an old married couple
You reckon?

I'm off back home to Cornwall for a week to see friends and family which is why I called it a 'holiday'. It is but it is 'home' as well so not quite the same if you follow me.
We loved Cornwall - did Dorset, Devon, Cornwall on a holiday in 1966 with two friends. Favourite place was Mevagissey, so we went back there for our honeymoon the next year!
Then we took our sons there in the mid 70's.

I would guess the former trish, after all if people can rebuild their coils they are losing money. Lets hope that better wicking material works for you. :toast:
