I'm planning on building my first custom mod. I'm still doing a lot of research, but I plan on doing some sort of unregulated box mod for my first build. There are many extensive guides and walkthroughs out there on how to do certain builds, and I feel like I have enough tinkering skills and common sense to safely execute them. This dive back into electronics has me scratching my head trying to remember those electrostatics classes from years ago. I'm looking for a resource that is more than a reddit wiki and less than a textbook that pertains to battery safety and use, soldering, and designing/planning circuits. I'm finding so much good stuff on this forum already! Y'all are great!

to ecf elbing. So glad you are here. I am not sure exactly what you are trying to build, but I have seen some fantastic YouTube's showing how it is done. YouTube is my best friend.

There are also lots on the modding threads. Good luck to you and happy building. I admire anyone who can do this.

If you're looking for general electronics, you can take a look at :

He can be incredibly long winded, but there's still a lot of good information there.

If you want some videos just on mod builds, I'd suggest the oldies but goodies:
