Anyone know anything about counterfeit(?) Joye products

Joye has posted a message about this on their website

Electronic Cigarette, E-Cigarette, Elektronische Zigarette, Cartridge, eZigar

I'll avoid pasting the whole text here to avoid possible copyright issues and just post a link. Among "unauthorized" sellers they only list one website that appears to be US based and the wording says they are "unauthorized" but isn't entirely clear if these are actually counterfeit products. Making it more confusing they don't actually tell you which sites actually are authorized and the wording is all vague.

Are most of the websites selling Joye 510 kits selling legitimate products? Which websites have you purchased from? Did the product your received appear to be legitimate? How do you tell the difference between a legitimate product and a counterfeit?

I recently ordered this kit (Should have asked here first, but already ordered it and its on the way). The website looks legitimate. The price seems much lower than the list price elsewhere for a similar kit. Am I going to get what I expected? Are counterfeit products any real problem to be concerned about?

I've noticed alot of vendors label Rivas as eGos and while I have both and prefer the riva, it does bother me. If the PV has a gold band with a blue rubber button it is most likely a Riva; an eGo has a silver band with a larger inset plastic clear (white) button. Though there are some rivas with silver bands as well, but they are flush with the body.

Ethically speaking, all counterfeits are bad. If they want to sell and "ecig with 510 compatible threads" or simply call it a 510, fine. But if they call it a Joye 510 or a Joye eGo, then it should be a Joye product, although some of the "counterfeits" are not necessarily bad products. I am not sure whether the company you referenced is selling a genuine Joye product or not, unfortunately. Hopefully it works well and you got a good deal.

My PV was sold as an eGo XL 900 mah, has the gold band and the LED is blue but I think the button is a clear/white rubbery one. It was NOT sold as a Joye product. I don't know if it's a Riva or maybe an eGo manufactured by Kanger . I've had no problem with it other than those caused by operator error. It does have about a 7 second cutoff. Does the Joye have a cutoff?

My guess it is probably Joye for at least the atomizer and battery since they specifically list Joye atomizer and Joye battery. Most places elling clone with just call it a 510 or give it a different name with 510 on the end, or a different name with no 510, or list who made it like Boge or SLB. But some vendors who don't say Joye are actually selling Joye (like Volcano says theirs is a Joye)

There are other Battery manufactures copying the Egos & Riva Batts like AIDTECH who have excellent prices, I was buying kits for $18 and not only are they much cheaper these Batts are actually nice and have a much nicer black protective coating on them than the Ego's do. It's all in the research just like buying a car, you know if your buying a Chevy or a ford and what the price differences are in the comparable models. If you search hard enough in the ecig world you can find stuff for some pretty good pricing and a decent product sometime over the name brands. Especially Atomizer they are the biggest of a money maker, there are places selling them for $8-$10 ea and if you do your homework you can buy these same exact ones for $3-$4. It's just being a smart consumer, this business is all about re-branding it's done on so many products in this marketplace that's why there are so many vendors calling there Ego or Riva a xxxx and selling them for a nice markup, it's the wonderful world of sales and marketing 101 and doing business and making profit and a living

I'm posting this as a follow up to my previous post. Thanks for all the information to everyone who answered my question.

I received the product today. It doesn't say Joye anywhere in the actual product. It just says "advances". I should have realized this from the website picture. As Dormouse pointed out, it may be a Joye atomizer or some Joye parts. The battery has a different brand name on it so I doubt the battery was made by Joye. I'm not sure if this is a case of counterfeiting since the product itself doesn't say Joye on it, it's more a case of a website mislabeling a product I think. It does produce a thick, heavy vapor and seems to be a quality product, and I think it will probably be compatible with 510 parts from other manufacturers according to the answers I received on another thread. I'll probably end up keeping it and not sending it back.

I havent really been on here looking for a few days. So in answer to your question is yes I was the one that posted the thread after looking at yours. I know that some people dont care about the rebrand and I guess it is okay as long as it works and you know its a rebrand. What I care about is that someone sells a product and either doesnt tell you its a rebrand or sell it as a genuine product and its not. Just do your research. Before you buy e-mail the company and ask them if it is the genuine article or not. Then go from there There are a lot of genuine ego suppliers out there and if you want a list then pm me and I can steer you in the right direction
