The 2.0 coming soon has been there for a while.

Maybe it's their way of saying.... well I don't know what they're trying to say for sure... other than someday there will probably be a firmware 2.0 ... eventually? But maybe a 1.5, 1.6 and so on till we get to 2.0. At which point they will probably want to sell us the new hardware in prototype now. So who knows what they have in store for us eVic fans. I'm hoping for the ability to summon a hoard of rabid rabbits wearing pink pajamas... and joyetech if you're reading that last part was a bad joke, good translation though. :)

I really don't care about further firmware updates for existing evics. Mine does what I want it do as is. For those hoping there will be an update that increases power output limits it's simply not going to happen for existing evics due to hardware limitations.

I realize the hardware limitations, but some of the algorithm can be improved for VW mode...

VW depends so much on accurate ohm readings and up to date readings, which can change slightly...

I constantly power cycle to make sure that the readings are most recent and correct, becoming such a nuisance that I'm thinking about going back to VV mode...

I sort of understand why Provari doesn't have VW mode as this can be faulty from inaccurate readings and faulty connections...

I haven't experienced the same issues. My eVic is a 10 month old Ovale V1. It's alway in vw, never vv. I have an electrical/electronic/technical background and tend not to over think things that are working just fine for me.

Not a logical direction in thought.

First, you know in VV mode you will have to make large changed to dial in for device variences.
In VW mode the changes will be automatic and even if a bit off will only require minor adjustment.

Second the display can show Both Volts and Watts setting.
This gives quick reference for adjustment.

If the setting is at 7watts/4.23 volts and I would prefer 4v I can simply twist a few times until it reads 4v no need to change modes. The watts will be lower, but that is what I was accomplishing anyway.

As to being retentive about varience - If you can tell from the vape you should be able to tweak and notiice the correction on the next vape.
For visual accuracy, no need to keep power playing. Loosen the topper, wait 1 second and tighten - new/updated reading will display.

I do agree eVic needs a fetter sampling algorithm. Sampling should be read and updated at least every few seconds.

Personally I'd never give up .1 watt adjust-ability for Volts adjustment. Especially when both can be accomplished from the same display.

Much ado about nothing. As it is, the Evic is the only vw mod I have, or know of that has .1 watt stepping This is after all vaping, not pin-point critical stuff. If the vape is too light, I dial it up, if too strong, dial it down. There's a whole world of vapers out there content with unregulated batteries.

While I do have a small personal "wish list" with every vaping device that I've owned, I find the Evic to perform as advertised.
