Hey guys, don't have enough posts to make a thread but need some help. Just got my first e-cig, Janty Dura. Plugged in both batts to charge but the USB battery is flashing red and green after only 20 min.

Should I just let it be? Or what. thanks.

Bounty--Just let it go--that little light has very little accuracy. I have received many new batteries that do this. The indicator light on the charger is of little value--just let it charge.--Hope that helps--Sun

-ACK. And use flat recharge cycles for long life.

-8-o There must be no hearable sounds from such a SPS-transformer, You got bad quality or faulty charger, get this thing offline and return-in for warranty exchange before it burns Your home down. Please state Manufacturer & Model?

Thanks Tribalmaster--this may clearify even more:

"Preparing new lithium-ion for use

Unlike nickel and lead-based batteries, a new lithium-ion pack does not need cycling through charging and discharging. Priming will make little difference because the maximum capacity of lithium-ion is available right from the beginning. Neither does a full discharge improve the capacity of a faded pack. However, a full discharge/charge will reset the digital circuit of a 'smart' battery to improve the state-of-charge estimation"

...From Charging lithium-ion batteries Hope that helps also--Sun :)
PS--I give my new ones a full charge anyway just to play it safe

I have been using Li-ion ( lithium ion), Li-po (lithium polymer), and Li-fe (lithium ferrite) batteries for some time now. I use a great deal of them in my R/C Hobby. Truth be told Li-ion is the older of the new generation of rechargable batteries. When charging these batteries when the light goes from red or amber to green the battery is ready to use. When you get a new battery it comes with approximately 75% charge, you MOST DEFINATLEY CAN USE IT RIGHT AWAY. There is no need for maintanace charges or clycling charges, the batteries used for E-Cigs are not smart batteries they are just protected batteries. And they do indeed have a limited life span. And that is due to the chemical make-up of the battery. Example you can only pour vinegar on baking soda so many times before nothing happens.
