Was wondering if anyone has messed around with peltier devices as an atomizer. If you don't know what a "peltier device" is, you can wikipedia it.

Just curious. I saw someone wanted a laser, and this came to mind. I would imagine their are more efficient heating elements out there than one of these tho.

One side of the unit gets cold, with poor efficiency. The other side however, gets hot, and can get very hot.

I actually wanted to buy one of these to do a little experiment in overclocking my CPU. Shopping around, I find that most of these are 12v and in theory you COULD use one of those little Vinnic mini 12v batteries. They're about an inch long and 1/4'' wide.

On the flip side, most of these peltiers are kinda big.

My call is: GO FOR IT!

It pumps heat from one side to the other, it doesn't made heat only pumps it I think, I had got a 500 MHz celery CPU with one built onto it.

It was over clocked and had a lifetime warranty with it, I got ram as well from them, one stick was bad and they over nighted a new stick.

But it does not make heat, only pulls it from one side to the other, and yes there needs to be some thing, for the heat to go into or the hole thing will heat up.
