So i quit cigs for two reasons, One: Save some money! Two: Get healthier...

So far i have acheived one of those two goals.. Im definately getting healthier. As far as saving money goes, if you look at the numbers you should theoretically save money.. But everytime i get a little cash.. Its off to the local B&M for some UPGRADES! Im not complaining, i LOVE vaping. Definately my new hobby.

Whats your guys's thoughts?

Here is the way I look at it:

I'm not 'saving' money, as in putting it away into savings. I'm saving money, by not buying stinkies, that I can use for my new hobby. My main goal was to get healither, and to stop smelling like an ashtray. I have achieved that. My money now goes towards my new hobby, which I really do not mind!

Well, I was a 3 pad smoker, so I definitely save money. Once I settled into my equipment and started making my own juice (unflavored BTW), I can get by on <$20 month. Now for the first several months, I had to try every device and every juice on the planet, I certainly wasn't saving money then. That's my story and I'm sticking to it...

Well...I have to agree I am not saving $$ yet but I am saving my life for sure. I think when we start off we start low end and work our way up until we find exactly what we want/like. for me smoking was an addictive behavior and so it has gone into my vaping. But I am glad I am not spending the $$ on cancer stix. I at least have a variety of items I can enjoy a good vape on. I know after my next purchase I won't be buying anything other then building items and juice.

I HAVE stopped spending as much as really the only item I would like next is the provari so I am saving for that and I am currently just buying juices for now. Though everytime I see someone's post I go I WANT THAT LOLOL

once you settle in to a setup that works for you, its easy to save money. Just click the button in the top right corner and avoid the temptation to come back!
seriously though, long term you will save a lot of money. look at my signature. I'm a little over a dollar a day and I have had plenty of toys: provari(gone now), buzz pro, two roughstack, two zmax, and a kylin mechanical on the way. Plus a dozen different tanks, though I mainly use my modded out t3s clearos till my kraken arrives

I'm just starting and I think it will take probably another week to break even on my initial investment. I have two ego batteries, some spare tanks, and about half a dozen flavors. I would have to buy 7 new flavors a week to spend as much on vaping as I did on tobacco. I don't know how I shelled out that much money every day for smokes.

Because of special and unfortunate circumstances, I've not spent any money on vaping in the last four months since I lost my job. Luckily I already had all the mods, batteries, and tanks that I'd ever need, and enough cartomizers and replacement coil heads to last for several months. Last April I had purchased 500 ml of 24mg pg/vg flavorless liquid and some flavor concentrates to begin some DIY, so I was set on juices, too. You can really save money when buying in bulk quantities; I'm now glad that I did just that.

The initial investment can hurt a bit, but I know in a few months it will save me money. I was buying a carton of smokes about once a week for me and my wife at $64 a carton. Now we're vaping for the past month and I've spent a lot on stuff including a Provari Mini, I had to have all the right stuff so it works for us. We both vaped about 2 years ago for 6 months and we went back to cigs with only occasional vaping. We got frustrated with small ecigs, refilling carts and batteries that wouldn't last or give me what I needed. Now we're on the right track and we are loving it more than the first time.

In the hole. I smoked generic and only about 1/2 to 3/4 packs a day. Stocked up on e-cigs and supplies; will break even someday.

Far cheaper and safer than the drugs the doc would have had me on. Those drugs have too many side effects and don't work. No drugs for this old fart.

That was a subject my wife and I talked about, and is one of the reasons I switched. I was smoking about 3 cartons a week at $35/carton. I have been vaping for 8 months, so that's $840 I WOULD have spent on cigarettes.

All my vaping gear in 8 months, I've spent about $300. I tend to go budget (fasttech +vamos). I spend about $40/month on Ejuice which comes out to about $320. So, I KNOW I've saved $220 in 8 months. I now have two of my daily PVs, and the ammount I gave you for hardware includes the shipments that are in the mail as we speak. I should have the capability to do sub-ohm coils in a few days, and I have all the other ecig levels that are still in working order. I do not have, nor want, tonnes of mods/pv's. iI see no wants in the near future, and the only needs I can forsee is new wick/wire/juice + a box to keep this stuff in. My initial startup has been bought.

And just so you know, I am the type that doesn't mind "making due" with what I have. Newer/faster/better looking means little to me. Just this last christmas I got a new phone, the old one was about as basic as an android can get and the only reason I agreed to get a new phone, was so my 6 yr old can use my phone while he's waiting for something or in the car. My other son is not like me though, he got a Galaxy 4 for crhistmas and is now wanting an Iphone 5.

Have I saved money, yes. And I doubt I will do any recent big spendages besides upkeep for at least the next four months. Oh, and I forgot to mention, I still use windows XP.... why upgrade, my current OS is doing the job. :)

I have my mechanical mods, rebuildable attys, lots of wire and organic cotton... After I stopped messing around with the cheap plastic crap I pretty much just have to buy liquid now and have saved quite a bit. I do find myself occasionally buying more vape gear and collecting mods and such... But still never spend more than I would with cigarettes.

When I come here on this forum and I see my own sig, I can guesstimate how much I would have spent on cigarettes, then I can guesstimate how much my hardware costed me so far.

I'm pretty sure I'm in the ballpark or maybe a little over budget, and I still have things I want to get before I settle down, but once I settle down I expect to save real money; I expect break even point to be 1 year - about 6 months from now.

---- OH!---- I knew there was something wrong with something; while muddling the numbers in my head I wasn't seeing the stuff that is on the way in the mail already; I got a foggerV3 comming, among other things; I'm hoping the fogger ends up being my final tank; if so, I will probably order 3 to 6 more just for backup.

I'm saving money (see below) until someone comes in and talks about how you should imagine how much money you're saving by not having some imaginary disease in some imaginary future.
Not including medical expenses it took me about 6 months to break even. Then I was able to not buy much for 6 months which really saved. Then I went on a huge spending spree, but now I'm set to not have to buy anything for a long time (not saying I will).
