I haven't done any research on this but figured id ask. At least I'm honest. Has anyone tried trimming down the wicks on the vivi nova so they're not such juice hogs? I fill mine up and it's basically gone by 10 vapes, if that. Just seeing if anyone has tried it and what their experience was with it? Did it use less juice after shortening the wicks? Did anyone cut off 2 wicks entirely? Did cutting off 2 of those wicks help? Just looking for some helpful device so my vivi nova isn't a juice guzzler. Any feedback would be well appreciated?

I shortened all of my wicks and it still works well. It seems as if I'm not going thru as much juice as before. I think the longer wicks suck in too much juice, therefore, u fly thru juice. Performace is still good. Before, I'd have to fill it A LOT but, now, I'm still on my first fill with the shortened wicks.

Did this enhance the flavor at all? I have read in a few places that cutting the wicks shorter helps with flavor. Just wondering if that is true or not? Of course I guess that is a really subjective question as it is dealing with flavors. LOL

I'd say it has the same flavor. I love the flavor I get from the vivi nova but I didn't taste any deminished flavor. That being said, I've only been using the shorter wicks for a day. From what I am seeing tho, is that it isn't a complete juice hog like before. Still flies thru juice but not nearly as bad. Hopefully someone responds with their opinion on the flavor. Mine is, the flavor is the same.

I rebuild mine with cotton usually. This week I got some ekowool silica and xc 116 ceramic wick in.

So far I prefer the taste of cotton wick to ekowool silica and to the wick it ships with.

Cutting or making the wick shorter then the full length it comes with will force you to tip it more often. Not smart.

I don't mind tipping at all. U tip it over for a quick sec and voila. It's not rocket science. I don't see what's "not smart" about it. It works well for me as I'm sure it does for others. Everyone has their own way to vape. Just cuz it's not YOUR way doesn't it make it be not smart to do.

Vivis a top coil....You are going against gravity.....Longer wicks are needed to keep it saturated, unless you crave dry burnt hits.

:p

Most people hate tipping, and dry burnt hits.

1.5 mm and 3 mm Ekowool Silica wick, great in a Vivi Nova rebuild.

I only have a couple Vivi's, havent really used them enough to do much tweaking as I prefer Kanger T2's and BCC. I do cut the wicks on my T2s when I get replacement coils with wicks going all the way to the bottom of the tank. I dont like them real short, but not all the way to the bottom either. I also cut the rubber sleeve on my T2's about a mm or so. Like i said, i havent used my vivi's enough to do any tweaking to them yet so idk if cutting the rubber sleeve would be practical on them or not...

If you cut the plastic sleeving above the wick be careful. Too much cutting will make the top of the vivi tank a condensation disaster.

I've cut tiny "V" notches above the 2 protruding wicks off the center piece. It aids in wicking "IF" they are very small "V's". If the cuts are too large u will have a few problems with condensation and occasional flooding.

I cut the wicks on my CE4+CC clearos, just to prevent possible leakage if they're slightly too long, and get cought in the bottom. I haven't had to change a single coil yet on my Vivi Nova tanks (I use my clearos a lot more), but I'm sure I'll do the same thing, along with my new iClear16s. The duel-coil iClear16s kick major boo-tay, btw. :vapor:

I have cut the wicks on one of my vivi's before and didn't notice much of my of a difference honestly. If anything, I noticed a difference in the taste of my juice it seemed like it would taste burnt faster than with the normal wicks. Just my personal experience though it might have saved a little juice it wasn't anything mind blowingly different.

Fortunately, I haven't had a single dry hit. I just hated how much juice I went thru. It was ridiculous! With changing the type of wicking material, does it help with juice consumption? Shortening my wicks did the trick for me.

I have one Vivi Nova left and I've been trying my best to kill it, lol.

Vaping 1.4 and 1.2 OHM ekowool silica wicked coils thru it.....gave away a few to a buddy having a hard time giving up cigs, a neighbor.

Wanna switch exclusively to pyrex juice delivery systems, have the stuff (5 Pro tanks, 2 AGA T2's).....I just don't wanna toss a Vivi Nova that works.....

(vivi pic above was from late september)

Has anyone put together a good video/diy/explanation post together that explains why/how this works? Would love to see it!

R u talking about shortening the wicks? If so, no video is needed. What I (me, personally, so don't blame me if something goes wrong) looked at the wicks inside the tank and look where they fell on the mL scale. I cut mine at the 1.5mL line. All of the wicks got cut to that length. Doesn't have to be perfect. That's just what I did, tho. Hope that helps.
