Anyone taken apart a x6 vv ego style battery?

My the circuit board in my X6 has recently bit the dust. I have a replacement, but can not figure out how to get the stupid thing apart. I have repaired several ego style batteries, but this one seems to be one solid unit. Has any one had any success getting this thing apart?

There is a line about a quarter inch above the middle knurled area in the center of the tube.
Grasp an end with each hand and slowly bend back and forth (thumbs on either side of the line) while gently pulling each end away from the other. Once it's loose it may come apart rather quickly so be ready to relax...

Can you measure the battery inside, looks like a 16500 or something

Oh and to the OP did you ever get the circuitry replaced or get your X6 working?

Don't have to measure.. You can't see it in my shot, but it says "LIR 16600 1300maH 3.7V"

Thank you very much. I tried various ways, but knowing exactly where the separation was helped. I finally got it apart. I haven't had a chance to solder the new board in, but i have done it on several ego style batteries, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Sadly, mine fried the other day LOL
I had finally taken it apart due to a juice spill, hence when I took the pictures, This was a while ago and I had replaced the o-ring at the connection, but should have taken it apart then as the juice had leaked in. It did last a while afterwards though. But the juice did hit the board and went wonky last week.
It's now part of my "I'll get to it" pile.. I want another!! LOL

Yeah, i really did like the weight and form of the battery. It is nice to know that you won't every have the "broken post" problem like I have seen with standard EGO batteries.
I think juice was the culprit in mine as well. I have a SVD coming in the next few days, so repair has been put off. I could buy another X6, but I like tinkering so I will get to it in time.

I actually tinkered with it a bit (too much) today..
I put in an ego board (no selectable voltage) and had it working for a few drags... then went to to secure the negative wire permanently and I got the wire too hot...

FT has eGo-T boards for about $2.30.. might invest..
