Anyone taking Lamictal ODT and vape?

I'm just starting Lamictal (against my better judgment), have called my pharmacist and they couldn't tell me if it was safe to vape while taking this or not. It has A LOT of side effects including a deadly rash, I don't want to add to this by vaping. I've been slowing weaning my self from vaping anyway, but didn't want to do it all once, I'm finding. Just wondering if anyone else is taking it and having any problems or having to make any substitutions. Thanks. I appreciate it.

There are no interactions between nicotine and Lamictal that I can tell.

(Then again, I've found some meds make nicotine/tobacco feel more powerful, some make it feel less powerful, not always for any obvious pharmacological reason, so just see if you need to adjust your vaping accordingly.)

You're worried about the rash, and there's some good writing here about the Lamictal Rash (aka Stevens-Johnson Syndrome). It's ridiculously rare, though. There's a ton of information and experiences on the CrazyMeds Lamictal sub-forum, too.

LOL, yeah I already read the crazy meds site. Thanks for letting me know. The pharmacist couldn't even help me on that one. You're right that I'm scared sh*&less about taking this med. At least I can vape while doing it. At least until my doc makes me quit! Thanks !!!!

My niece takes lamictal and she vapes. No problems.

If you aren't taking Depakote, you shouldn't have much to worry about as far as the rash goes

Thanks guys, er ladies!!! Nope, just good 'ol LithiYum for me. You all are making me feel much better about it, I've really been all doom and gloom on it, but maybe it will help me. I will try vaping again (GRATEFULLY) tonight once my DH gets home from work. He'll be glad, he's been really upset about me giving up vaping, he vapes to so it's kinda a "team" thing. LOL

I dunno, with new meds it's always hard to start "unbiased" - easy to be afraid, I know.

Fortunately, I think I've sold my doctor on vaping. She's just happy I'm giving up analogs.

If I may ask what strength are you all vaping at? I've been at 18mg almost since the start, but on one med got seriously sick to my stomach and backed down to almost nothing, which is doing nothing. I don't want to get on a high enough dose that I make the Lamictal have a longer half life (pharmacist said this can sometimes happen with nicotine) and accidentally OD. But I do want enough nic that I know that I'm getting something. Thanks!
