Has anyone here tried the Revolver brand ecigs before? Specifically the G2 model?

I just passed the 1 week mark of no smoking (yay!). I was talking to my mom about it last night, and now she's curious about giving it a try. Turns out there is a new Revolver franchise store in my hometown (Sioux City, IA). Now I'm debating whether to send her there to get started, or if I should just order her the same setup I have (slim XL 510 manual batt + CE2 cartos) and wait a few weeks until she comes over to my side of the state for a visit to give her a tutorial.

I'm just wondering about the quality of Revolver, and whether it would be a good starting point for my 50 year old mother. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Fringe and Congrats on your success! Sorry but I've not tried revolver brand. I have, however, tried the Riva - it's a nice 510 set up at an affordable price and seems to be something worth checking out. You can go to Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510 and click get 20% off or check out some of your local online vendors. You may like this one as it offers a bit better battery life than some other 510 models.

Sorry, maybe I should have been more clear. I'm not looking for myself, but for my mother. She wants a slim model that will be similar in size to a real cigarette. Although I know everyone looooves to push the eGo for noobs.

And I don't know why everyone seems to talk bad about the slim batteries. I've got 2 slim XL manual batts and I love them. I have to switch my battery once, maaaaybe twice a day (if I'm using almost constantly). They have a nice, sleek appearance. The eGo just isn't aesthetically pleasing to me at all.

You are obviously not the typical vaper if you get 8 hours on a mini battery. The average vaper will only get 1 - 2 hours on one of your batteries. And due to battery drain issues with mini battery models and the inflexibility of what kind of atomizers and cartomizers you can use with mini batteries, these are just some of the reasons people don't recommend them.

The batteries I have are 340 mah, so roughly 3-4 hours of constant use. I usually need to switch batts after 6ish hours of real time at home, or about 8ish hours real time at work. That usually means one or two battery swaps a day for me.

I understand that the larger batteries like eGos have an amazing battery life compared to that, and have the option of using LR cartos and such. It just seems like many of the posters on here feel the need to talk about how bad the slim batteries are, but they're not really bad. They just aren't as powerful as eGo types. I just wish more people would phrase it more like, "If you like the slim model ecigs, then you're going to love an eGo, blah blah blah," as opposed to, "Slim batteries are crap, you're going to hate them, you need to get an eGo if you want to be happy."

I know not everyone here bashes the slim batts, but it seems like a lot do, and I'm just afraid it might turn some noobs off all together.

After you have read thousands of posts from frustrated mini battery users over several years, you tend to gear your advice to what works for the MAJORITY and not the miniority. Most of us want to help the many and figure that any model will work for the few. You are in the small minority who gets that level of battery life and performance from a mini battery. There are a minority of people who thought the Yugo was a good car and all they needed. Most did not share their viewpoint.

I got a basic 510 kit and I am amazed at how well it works. Good enough to get me off analogues. So I won't knock them. You just have to stay on top of your batteries. Couple of suggestions: Get a kit with cartomizers instead of attys. Simpler and they hold more. Get a PCC. I go through about 3 battery charges a day and the PCC keeps one charged while away from home or a computer. Consider a third battery. And get a USB pass thru in case you forgot to charge a battery and run dry.

If you read this, I have had pretty good luck with v4l, great customer service. I'm in NC and if I place my orders before 2:00 I get my shipment in 2 days, order on Tue, receive it on Thu. At least the 3 orders so far. They also have a nice variety over flavors. They have some 420 mAh XL slim batteries if she doesn't Ming the longer slim. If you poke around enouge you will see every one has a problem with some of there equipment from time to time. So it might be wise to pick up a third battery (about the cost of three days of analogs) just in case something happens to one of the batteries in what ever kit you get. You wouldn't want to be stuck with one slim battery if something happens, call it security if you want. Just a suggestion. I don't babe a lot of experience to draw on but have had 3 different slims and am likening v4l's diamond series manual. I didn't think I would ever be filling my own cartos but it was only a couple weeks before I jumped on that bandwagon and if there's a chance she likes vapeing and decides to try filling her own cartos then the manual batteries would be safest.

As far as Revolver, I haven't reveived my order yet so I can't speak to the quality of there product. My order is in the mail, I was informed it was shipped priority but they shipped it first class for some reason, its been 48 hours and its still in MI. It was ordered early on Wednesday and wont be here till Monday at the earliest, so I'm not impressed with there shipping. An email inquiry I sent them yesterday. Has gone unanswered for 36 hours now so I'm equally not impressed with there customer service. With as many places I have to choose from online I wont be doing buisness with them anymore. I'd probably send her to have a look and if she see something she likes have her grab it and get her started in time I'm sure like myself and others you and your mom will grow into what ever suits your taste and needs. I still use slims.
