There is a place in Lawrenceville called LOCOS that might be willing to host a get together. They just opened a new location and I mentioned it to the owner about 6 months ago and he said he might be interested.

Hey man! Happy Holidays! Haven't seen you since the Whirly Ball meet in Jan/Feb. Sure, give LOCOS a call and see if they can accomodate us. Also please post a link if they have a website. Gonna start a head count thread to get a feel for how many folks to expect for the meet.

Hey, girl, nice to hear from ya. Yeah, it's been awhile. Locos moved to a new location but I asked the manager about it when they were in their old location and he said he was definitely interested. You might want to let me know what our "requirements" would be, if any. I can stop by and talk to the manager or owner about it. Here is their web site:

They have several locations and I believe they started in Athens.
There may be a better location thats in Lilburn called Dillons. I watch football there and their set up would probably be more conducive to our get together. They have three large separate rooms, all with TV's and one with pool tables. That way we could have our own area. Here is their web site:

Man our requirements are few. LOL! We need to be able to eat, drink and vape, preferably in our own room or area!
Both sites look good but having never been to either establishment, you definitely have the inside track on if either could accomodate us. Our last meet in October (maybe 10-12 people) started at 4p and I think I got home around 1:30 or 2a. Don't remember what time the Jan meet started (I think 6 or 7) because I came late after leaving work early. I would think the turnout might be anywhere between 10-25 people, thus the reason for trying to get a head count. Please check in with them and let me know. Thanks.
I've checked with Dillons and they are interested but need to check something out and will get back to me next week. I plan to check out a couple of other nice places that have been recommended to me. I'll keep you all informed.
I went to look at another option today and it looks like a very good option. They can provide us with our own room with a private bar and according to the manager are "pro vaping"! The place is much larger than Dillions, newer, nicer atmosphere and would be easier to get to. Here's their web site:

I think we have to gauge interest. To get the private room, we need 25 people committed to going. They have another option that is semi-private that would also work out for less than 25 people. I told the guy if we did have the get-together it would probably be in about 3 weeks, since I needed to give him some idea. Day of the week needs to be determined also. If we have the private room, then any day of the week is fine, even the week-end. If we get the semi-private area, it would need to be during the week.
I'm willing to help set this up but definitely could use some help with contacting people, figuring out times, day, etc. I made it to the first get-together but not the 2nd one, so for those interested, it would be good to hear what people want or expect. If it is just a place to meet, have some food and drink and compare PV's, it should be pretty staight forward.
I have three that will come, but 25 may be a strech. Not sure how may attended the first meeting. I was at the last meeting and I think there was only 12-14. Not sure if there is a way to send to all of the members of the group.
Dave thanks so much for your efforts and the pm. Real life has been keeping me pretty busy lately but I have been checking into spots too. Got shot down by the 3 places I had in mind for the 15th and the 22nd...one because of a prior booking and the other two aren't willing to commit due to the status of ecigs and indoor smoking ordinaces (dialogue and data provided was not convincing ).
I have us penciled in for the Eagle's Nest private room at Manuel's Tavern (where the October meet was held) on Saturday, January 29, 2010 from 4:30 - 10:30pm. For those who didn't attend the last meet, this room can seat about 25-30, allows smoking in designated areas, has a great beer and spirit selection, reasonably priced food and wi-fi. I think with the additional time, we should be able to have a turnout greater than the last meet wherever we wind up. I plan to peruse the GA Group and the general forum within the next few days and send the final thread link and a meet invite to all of the Georgia vapers I can find. I had gotten email addresses from the folks at the last meet during the raffle, but of course, I don't know what I did with the stubs.
Anyway, if no one has any real objections to the venue or the date, I'd suggest we go with Manuel's or make a choice about another spot by the weekend so that we can then focus on getting the word out and making this the most attended Georgia meet yet.
Okay, back to payroll, which is what I'm supposed to be doing and has allowed me to be on the computer this long at the shop. I'll check in later this evening when I get to job #2.
