I have a cheap ultrasonic cleaner I bought long ago for cleaning jewelry.I imagine you can pick them up for less than 30. When i cleaned jewelry with it you could see the ripples on the water and dirt/grime/stuff would just fall away from the jewelry. You wouldn't believe how dirty a ring or watch band can get. They look clean but they aren't. This cleaner was great.

The cleaner has a nice little stainless tub. You can use any kind of liquid in it. I thought maybe I'd use some cheap Vodka to clean attys. Anyone try this?

I went and got the cleaner from Harbor Freight. It had been $40 but is on sale until 2/27 for $24.99. Figured I would try it and just return it if it sucked. I will be keeping it. The thing works so well that it removed the finish from some attys. That sucker brought a pair of long dead attys back to life even. Holy crap!

That was round 1. Going back for round 2 tonight with some clearomizers and a few of the old attys I have been reusing.

OMG!

Do you think this would work with KR808 cartomizers as well? If so, what would you soak them in?

I've been having a hard time getting them clean without ruining them. Boiling seems to kill them faster than just running hot water over them, but the hot water method doesn't clean them as well.

I'm also worrying about bacteria growing while they dry out.

Any good advice here?

If you use Everclear no bacteria can grow. It's ethyl alcohol (Pure grain drinking alcohol. White lightning.) In fact, you could clean your counters with the stuff and kill germs. But that would be prohibitively expensive and a waste of good hooch!
I like ScottinSoCal's idea about putting the atty in a shot glass of Everclear (No water touches the atty, only Everclear) in the middle of the tub and then fill around it with water for a couple cycles. I'm going to try that.

Keep Everclear away from flames. The stuff burns with an invisible flame and is very volatile!
buy some extra Everclear and mix it with a can of Hawaiian punch to make the best fruity punch ever!
