Anyone use the CE2/CE2XL all by itself?

I have a MAP regular and a mini, as well as replacement CE2/CE2XL for both. I'm wondering if anyone uses the carts by themselves?

The only real problem I can see is cleaning them and being able to move the wick under the element to a clean, unused spot of wick.

I suppose if I didn't like them that way I could always cut the tube and use it in a MAP tank.

I think that's were most of us started... and then left. Putting a CE2 in a larger tube or tank improved the wicking so much I haven't wanted to go back. I'm trying the Gianto. now, but it (so far) doesn't touch the tank or larger tubes. It's really a matter of personal taste.

Give it a shot - if you don't like it you can always pull out the tube cutter.

Being able to finally really clean an atomizer/cartomizer is definitely a plus for me. I'm not so much into boiling and subjecting my gear to various chemical baths, but a nice clean tank, produces nice vapor. I tried using the standard ce2 once, but it was immediately obvious that you couldn't tell if it was truly empty, much less clean it and rinse it effectively, so I finished it and cut the tube, cleaned and then installed in MapTank and never looked back. Way more efficient and easier to deal with.

I dont move/reposition the wick at all. I just rinse under hot water straight from the tap. Do a dry burn to clean the coil and then reassemble, load it up and vape away. My CE2's last at least 3 weeks. I've actually only replaced one and that was only because I broke the wick on it while cleaning (my bad). I suppose I could have continued to use it with a broken wick because the coil was still in fine working order, but figgered I'd find out about all this business of changing out the CE2. I followed BB's video on how to do this, and it was just as easy as he showed it to be in the video. As someone else on another thread said, the first one is the hardest one, as I notice now that when I clean it, when I go to push the tube back on, it actually pushed the CE2 further up in the cap which caused me to then have to pull it back down to proper position. Which leads me to one improvement on the design of the delrin caps... a little lip up in there that would limit how far it could be inserted (same for the drip tip end as I have had mine slip further down into the top cap just trying to insert the drip tip). And if they made it so that if you always cut the tube at say 1/2" from base, it would always fit perfectly. :) Sorry, just my mechanical designer OCD's showing. I'd also like to see a cut-out or a lip on the caps for easier removal from the tube.

I have used them by themselves and had a good experience with them. Just got the MAP for the increased capacity.

I got them to mod my tanks with, but my S.O. likes the Clearomizers so she can see the juice. I've taken a toot off her PV with one on just to see what she's vaping. Hey Bruce.. I saw in another post somewhere you got a pipe mod? Pics?

Here's mine with a mini MAP.
