Cool, did you buy blood orange? If not don't....... I have 120mls and will send you some of mine. .5mls goes a long way and it will take me a lifetime to use 120mls.
Didn't get this notification, glad I came to post! Ordered nic salts from LB, shipping rates much lower. NR rates are ridiculous. Paid about 2.50 more for salts and still saved money. Was going to place flavor order tonight and was trying to decide between blood orange FW or FA. You are a gem! :)

I gotta be honest, I don't really notice *much* faster delivery time, as I said, I use them for the smoothness of the throat hit. I've often combined regular nic (from my storebought juices) with my DIY juices, and I notice very little difference. I don't so much get nicotine "highs," but I do get satisfied by vaping enough nic over the correct period. I don't think I'll ever get that type of "headrush" high that I occasionally got with cigs (if you smoke enough of *those* you really don't get it much, either) though once I started vaping, if I ever smoked a cigarette, it would kind of remind me of when I used to get them, early on... Which is the reason if I pick up a cigarette, I'm going to need to smoke several, to remind myself that doesn't last. Then, I would have a nic hangover, the next day. Not really worth it. :)

I think though, with nic salts, the differences are slight enough that you may not really notice. Though, Juul makes this claim, and that does seem to be the cigalike that a lot of smokers enjoy, but at 50 mg/100 ml, you'd BETTER be satisfied....

Just some random comments, I just ran across this thread. I've never tried nic salts but I'm curious about it, not so much for me but for friends that might want to try vaping (that might make more sense later...). My history... vaping for a little over 3 years, last smoke was 7/31/2014 (except one smoke that had way too much alcohol involved :) ). I was a 2.5-3 PAD smoker, and I started with 24mg on an Ego/CE4, which, by today's standard, is garbage stuff. As I worked my way up in power (to mostly 30W dripping today) I dropped to 3 mg. When I started, I just couldn't get enough nic, or I was missing what is missing from cigs in our vape (probably more likely).

That head rush you talked about - some of us have talked about the idea that that head rush is not nic, it is CO (carbon monoxide). I remember decades ago when i sort of quit, I would have a cig every week or so, and my first hit would send that amazing feeling right down to my toes :). It really was amazing.

I was off ECF for a while, and I never heard of nic salts until I came back. I don't think you would find any reference here more than a year old, at best? And I've been DIYing for almost 3 years now. This is my theory on the nic salts, at least in terms of the POD makers like Juul...

The nic salt smooths out the vape - you mentioned that. Juul and some others are using 50mg. That would rip the throat out of most people, and I think they use the salts to smooth it out. Otherwise it would not be really palatable at all. I occasionally drip 50mg (and hopefully I remember to turn my mod down, LOL). It's kind of neat, I don't get a head rush, it's just really harsh :). Even though I only do mostly 3mg now, I have some reason to believe I am very nic tolerant (40 years at mostly 2-3 PAD).

Anyway, in the meantime Juul is basically selling eLiquid for $5.71/ml or $131/oz. We should be making DIY juice for anywhere between $0.005 and $0.03/ml, or less than $1/oz (depending on flavoring percentage). So... here is their marketing strategy (according to Moi)...

  • Sell PODS for a price that is beyond exorbitant. It makes chemo look cheap. It makes BP look like they give away scrip drugs.
  • Cater to new vapers who are trying to quit.
  • Totally blow them away with the nic hit (and from comments I've read on ECF it works- it's an effective way to get past that critical month or two or three). Without the salts most people probably could not take any kind of a hit of basic 50mg nic.
  • They are so happy they aren't even doing the math to figure out they are paying $131/oz for $10/oz juice.
  • It is so strong they can't vape that much, or they would rebel - find a cheaper way to do this if the nic level were lower and they were chain vaping and spending $40/day their first week of their quit attempt.
  • ETA: Key point, it takes about 20-30 minutes of steady vaping to raise the blood nic level to where one cig will get it after a couple of minutes. That is key to the 50mg stratgegy.
It's a neat marketing concept :). And I could see trying to get friends who want to start vaping started on something like a Nautilus and some salted juice somewhere between 30-50mg (really not sure what the right number should be, but more than the 12mg people otherwise tend to start with now).

Most smokers I know claim to have tried eCigs but "it just didn't cut it" so they go right back to smoking. I'd love to hand them a Juul and see the expression on their face with a 50mg hit :)

At 3mg, I doubt that salted nic would add value to my vape because at least for me 3mg is almost like 0mg (which I vape from time to time just because it is so smooth, especially my favorite flavor mixes)). But if I were 6-12mg or or more I could see where it would add some value.

Anyway, those are my random ideas as to where nic salts fit into things. For some people it may be the best thing since the invention of the cigarette, for others, maybe not so much, depending on where they are in their vaping journey.

VNeil I would not look to nic for a buzz/head rush. I would however love if salts could give quicker nic satisfaction, especially upon waking. I lost my taste for th very early after taking up vaping. At 9mg I'll go for the smoothest nic I can find. :smokie:I do agree with some of your statements. Wish I knew about salts earlier, might not have dualled for 5mon.

So do I. Also wish I knew about WTA when I quit, which might be far more useful.

Speak for yourself, but I swear that was the best legal rush I ever got, at least chemical. I still vividly recall those occasional smokes, over 20 years later. I think the CO theory has a lot of merit and that's why I mentioned it.

Neither one CO2 or CO1 is good to have much in the blood stream. One of the reasons Cigarettes are bad on top of the thousands of chemicals. Carbon monoxide bonds with hemoglobin cutting off oxygen......bad
Yea, I know all that. But once you've totally purged it out, I think it is quite the rush. It's probably what makes people so dizzy when they first start smoking. Can't believe I did that for 42 years...

So I got my salts today, but storage bottles not here yet. I just put bottle back in bag and put it in the fridge. Should have amber botts soon. I'm guessing this is okay. Only ordered 120ml this time, was going to keep 30 ml out. @Beamslider Is this an okay plan? From what I've read I think I'm good to go. (ambers are 30ml with flat lids)
