Yes and still do, vaping "could" be part of the cause since nicotine does that to yah... and if you vape ALOT it "could" increase the possibility... but I am a heavy DEW drinker and maybe coincidently I have been drinking alot of it

Sooo I am not sure if this helps any

hmm maybe you didn't smoke enough hehe
it is possible for the nic effect, but it was only a guess

another possibility is if you are breathing better now after 2 weeks you are less tired then you use to be......

again another possibility is that you are just a young buck and this is just another stage of puberty hehe

Im afraid I agree with lightgeoduck here..

There is no definitive guide as to how much nicotine you were absorbing whilst smoking, so its very hard to compare levels between vaping and smoking.

It is possible that your body is adjusting a bit to the gradual intake that vaping gives, rather than the sudden intake of a cigarette.

I would look at the mg rating of the juice you are using, and try lowering it slightly late evening and see if it makes a difference.

However, it may be related to your body removing the harmful residue from your smoking days, if this is the case, then it will ease in time, and a sleep pattern should return to normal. Either way trying the experiment of nic reduction wont do any harm at all.

Don't be afraid to agree with me :)

anyone at the two week mark experience any kind of insomnia?

It looks like you're still online. :) "Night owl" much?

Insomnia is the the one side-effect I've noticed from vaping. I don't know why, but I tend to vape more in the wee hours of the night. I've been trying to adjust that habit, and the past few weeks, have been increasingly successful.

I must say though, I've quite enjoyed the wheeze-free nights of sleep since I've been vaping.

Just taper off a bit, and sweet sweet sleep will come quite naturally.

I'm at about the 2 week mark and I'm sleeping better than ever, however I think that may a bit to do with how I ended up on e-cigs. Let me explain:

I was a 40+ a day smoker, much heavier than you. About 3 months ago I realised I HAD to do something about it. I'm in my mid 40s and been smoking for 30 years. My first idea was to switch to roll your own which had a triple barrel effect. Firstly, it halved the amount I smoked as it wasn't so convenient. Secondly, it more than halved my smoking costs. But most importantly it got me on a more pure tobacco which means I've already done my withdrawal from all the other crap they put in manufactured cigs... That was actually harder than the leap from RYO to e-cigs. Tailor made cigs have a lot more addictive **** beside nicotine.

I'm still having a couple of RYOs every now and then, but because I enjoy them, not need them..

Im only several days behind you, but im feeling it.

I think it goes with the lack of tar(and whatever else) coating your lungs, so you get increased oxygen intake, which leads to overall better function of everything, including muscles and mind. Add to that, Nicotine is a stimulant much like caffeine.

So its understandable to be an insomniac while your adjusting. I can now function fine on 3-5 hours of sleep, which before I could not.

I definately have a hard time falling asleep after a night of chain vaping. I've been thinking it's my brain being on a nicotine "high" and me not being able to calm it down...lol.

I don't really know if vaping (nicotine) is the cause of this or not. I'd assume it's either that or my a$$hole neighbors who work 2nd shift and scream at the top of their lungs from 12-4 every night.

im at the 2-3 week mark and i have thought this myself.... i dont think its insomnia , but i do tend to stay up later and later it seems. i wsa a night owl anyway before - staying up till about 1-3 am. but now with vaping i just seem to have more energy and i was posting on here this morning at 5am!!! lol and i didnt actually get to sleep until 6 am this morning.

i think the cause is not the nicotine, but the rejuvenation of my body, from less chemicals and nicotine. when i smoked analogs i was always groggy, specially in the morning. i would imagine once all of this crapo is outa my system i may even have more energy :)

All up in your grill..
tobacco is treated with extracts of valerian root which is basically natures valium. E-cigs do not contain this, which could be a possible explaination. Although I would imagine it wouldn't take 2 weeks to get out of your system (most drugs are out in 4 days)
Also I have seen alot of reports associated with either insomnia or incredibly vivid dreams when quitting smoking in general.
