Ok, I have grape ape in my protank mini, fresh coil, on a VV winder. Is it my tongue? does it need to steep? Do I need to jump up and down on a suitcase to encourage the Ape to come out? It smells amazing, I just can't get a good strong taste yet.

My friend can't taste the virus. I've tried giving it to him on 3 separate days using a Reomizer, Taifun GT and Evod. He can taste some indiscriminant sweetness, but nothing else. Out of the Taifun, the virus is in your face, almost too much. My dad cannot taste any flavor of an avocado, never could his whole life.
I don't know if it's the same sort of thing. Maybe some people are just more or less sensitive. Clark said it doesn't need to steep.

I think the Ape only comes out with higher wattage. A clearo'/protank will also mute some of the flavor(s). Did you try dripping it?
Grape is one of my favorite flavors of anything. Ever. I can taste something sweet, but not grapey. I don't know if it's my tank...or me! And my Vaper's tongue has cleared up so it isn't that (Thank the vaping Gods). I'm going to try it in one of my iClear 30s tanks. They're uncrackable. The only other I have is the iClear 30 and I hate those things.
I don't do the dripping thing. I have no equipment or anything for it. I have carto tanks, clearos (one dual coil, a couple iClear 30s with the funky center wick cartridge), and that's about it.
Sorry, I thought you were referring to the AP3 aspect of the juice. The sweetness/intensity of the grape varies on the device and the power used. You should be getting some grape, even with a clearo'.
And, none of NT's juices are tank crackers, even GCD and Snickerdoodle.
Turn your voltage up a tad until you taste it. I've found some juices I have to crank up to get the flavor to come out.
I'm about to try it in the aerotank with dual coils. I can't put my finger on what I do taste.
I'll do that. I can only go up to about 3.8 on these coils (2.0) and that's pushing it. At least according the the handy little chart that came with my Hypertank.
Welp my daughter says she tastes bubble gum...she was no help at all...lol. I just can't taste anything but that mystery taste. I guess my tongue is broke.
You might have a broked taster Jess. It's definitely in there, and it's not "faint" or "subtle" by most accounts (none of my liquids are, generally speaking). I hate the "taste is subjective" thing but it really is true.
In regards to the steeping - it doesn't appear (to me) to change significantly over the steep time.
This might be too basic, but some folks have been caught filling tanks without shaking the bottle first... the liquid does separate if it sits for a while.
Adjusting the wattage/voltage little by little might help it "catch" for you
Also - if you have "low resistance heads" for your clearo those tend to work better (1.8 as opposed to 2.4) - especially on fixed voltage devices.

LOL I'd probably hurt myself with a dripper I've never seen one let alone used one. I'm thinkin' my taster is borked too. Trying my Nautilus now with a 1.8 coil but the tank is being fussy.
Don't think about the cloud chasers. An Igo-w with a simple mid-range microcoil and a cotton wick will open your eyes and tastebuds. It sounds and looks more daunting than it is.
That's the part I'm not ready for, the building and wrapping and ohm checking. Ohms law makes my brain bleed, my eyes cross and smoke pours out of my ears. I'll give it a little more time, maybe my taster will start working again.

I'm betting my vapers tongue isn't completely gone, just improved a bit . I can only taste citrus in betelgeuse on top of the grape issue.

Hmmm my betelgeuse is super strawberry right now. Grape is a bit faint for me unless I jack up the voltage a bit. After eating a grapefruit (a nightly habit lately), the grape is more pronounced. Maybe your taste buds are all tuckered out at the moment.

Yeah I thought it was better. I've had a case of the vape tongue for a week. Then I was able to taste one of my favorite juice again and thought it was cured.
This morning before I did anything else I tried BG and GA again and definitely tasted better than yesterday. But now it's gone again. And my throat is irritated...lol! Teach me to vape before drinking water. At least there's hope! I was hoping I didn't have to play musical tanks. I have a couple Vivi Nova-S coming to replace some iClear 30s and this @$%#^%^&&^ iClear X.1.
You may be one of the folks that has to constantly rotate - I know a few people that can't vape anything for 20 minutes no matter how 'ADV worthy' it is!
That's what is strange. I do that all the time. I don't even have an ADV. But everything I have been rotating through since I started has been fruity/candy stuff, I didn't have anything else in the rotation. Today I'm alternating between cinnamon and Virus and QoH though
