I think a lot of us (myself included) had a strong connection to this forum as so many of us are quitting smoking successfully for the first time and this place provided tremendous emotional support during that process. It's not really the forum per say, but the people behind it that makes it what it is. Many friendships and bonds have formed, and I hate to see so many of those that made this place what it is go :(. It's grown so much and things are bound to change, but I think/hope that after this current blip things will settle down and we can get a more positive vibe going.

Hope this is a temporary leave of absence for you guys and you'll come back!

..To Those I have Offended..

..I'm Sorry..

..To Those I have Made Laugh..
..Laugh On..

..To Those That I have Helped..
..Help Others..

While those are very powerful words of wisdom, I am saddened by the context in which I am reading them.

I have been away for the last couple of weeks due to my daughter having a very serious and complicated back surgery. A surgery which determines the quality of the rest of her life, while she is at the young age of 28. You know, the really serious stuff in life that tugs at our every emotion and our heartstrings.

Upon my return, I see so many members who have left, either voluntary or otherwise, and it saddens me greatly. Many, being the very same people whom I view as the cornerstone for my success in no longer smoking. A feat I was unable to accomplish for thirty years! Yet, these wonderful people, of this very forum, helped me beat what I thought was the “unbeatable.”

While watching my grandchildren for two weeks, my 6 year old granddaughter ran up to me with a big hug, and with her innocent little voice said, “Nannah, I love you even more now because you smell so pretty with your blue cigarette lights and I’m so glad you’re not gonna die like my teacher said.”

If that doesn’t tug on another set of heartstrings and remind us all of why we ended up here to begin with…. I don’t know what will.

It’s not about power, it’s not about control. It’s about a community helping each other learn more about what appears to have the highest success rate as an alternative to smoking.

Please, people… members and moderators alike… Let’s not lose sight of the common goal.

For those who know me, they know that I am an info manic. I crave knowledge and I read nonstop to grasp as much information as possible. I do post lighthearted drivel on occasion, and I apologize if I offended anyone in my attempt to garner a smile…. But I must admit that this is my first post that I literally hesitate to hit the “submit” button on, as it reminds me of the fear I felt when I dared speak out to an abusive spouse of 20 years…….

To all who have moved on…. Thank you so much for the knowledge you have shared with me (and countless others)…. the support you have provided, and the heartfelt welcome you provided as I became a part of this community.

To Smokey Joe, Thank you for having this forum which allows all these wonderful people to help so many others, who are just beginning the e-smoking journey.

It is my sincere hope and prayer that the e-cigarette-forum community can return back to the peaceful place of knowledge, laughter, and hope…. while those FEW who can’t play proper with others in the sandbox, find an appropriate, self-fulfilling litter box to rule and call home.

Peace and Blessings to all…..
Maria

the amount of times ive thought to myself........"**** this place......im off!"

the way that some people get treated on this forum, its no wonder they leave. what annoys me the most is that its the people who post on here trying to help others are normally the ones who have the accusations thrown at them.

best of luck Apo, you know you are always welcome to argue with me at the TW forum :)

cheers,

scott

Angl, your words hit all the right spots....and I'm glad you didn't fall for the temptation of the "delete" key on your post..

This IS a community, and we're stronger together. The stresses of the outside world are tearing us apart....but we need to regain that spark of togetherness....

Therefore, I will NOT leave ECF, but continue to offer my hopes, my assistance, and my knowledge to all who ask for it.

And serve it up with a healthy dose of laughter.
Vape ON!
