Hey its that or no turkey. I was planning a trip to Grant Pass OR. to be with family for TG, but surgeon said Wednesday or it has to wait till mid Jan (gotta love Kaiser @#$%&*). So I pu 1/2 a cooked, sliced and portioned turkey in the freezer for grub during the recovery, I know I won't feel much like eating on Thurs
Definitely good thinking (although terrible timing!!). I had surgery last year on December 8, happy that I would only need to pay the rest of my deductible for the year on it. It was almost paid up by then. Unfortunately, it ended up being a 2-part surgery and I had to wait until April of this year for the second part, so I had to pay the full deductible for the year and then we lost that insurance! I swear it's a full time job just trying to stay ahead of the insurance companies and their money-grubbing selves. :)

When you get it back, I'm gonna laugh.
Yeah, he can have it. He ate it yesterday and he is just fine today, so I am not worried about it hurting his innards. It's round and not sharp anywhere, and he has eaten worse, lol!

What! How are you going to eat your turkey with your arm all surgeried up?? :( Seriously, though, I am thinking good thoughts for you for surgery, and thank you SO MUCH for the code! Got my coils ordered and already stalking the mailman. :D
Last year for Thanksgiving my niece had her right arm in a sling. She, her husband, her brother, and her brother's friend was driving home from NYC where they went out for my other nephew's birthday at the beginning of November. There was heavy traffic on the highway due to an accident so they had to slow down to a complete stop. Some girl driving daddy's Mercedes didn't bother slowing down and slammed into their car doing over 65 mph. The impact actually spun their car around 90 degrees and they ended up getting T-boned by the Mercedes. Fire rescue actually had to use the jaws of life to cut my niece out of the car and the police was shocked that she survived the accident. They found out that her collar bone actually had a spiral fracture in it, so they needed to cut her open from her shoulder to her neck to set it. All four of them are individually suing the other driver and her dad (and she was arrested that night for DUI). My niece had the bulk of the injuries, although her husband also had some nerve damage to his wrist and my nephew injured his knee.

How tragic! Thankful they all made it out, and hope this Thanskgiving is much better for them!

Oh my gosh, John, that is horrible!!! You guys had a lot to be thankful for last year, it sounds like! It sounds like whatever they were driving saved their lives. So scary.

They were in her husband's Subaru Legacy.....just like the "they lived" commercial. My niece was pretty depressed because she was Facebook stalking the girl after the accident and just scant weeks after the accident my niece was in pain and recovering from surgery and this girl was posting selfies of her out drinking and partying with friends.
