Yes. The trick is in finding a way of pinching/holding the wires that works for you... The way they show in the videos never worked for me, had to figure out my own way :p

I'll have to see if I can find some time to play around with this. I used to do twisted coils all day since I have access to a drill press it worked wonders.

So what kind of wire is that? Pretwisted or you twisted and what gauge?

It's a Clapton.... That one is 32 gauge kanthal wrapped around a 28 gauge kanthal wire...gotta do it yourself, though if someone would pre make it and sell it in different gauges, it would probably be popular :p

I forgot who does it but I've seen pre-built clapton coils for sale before. They come in a fancy small clear jar with a cork plug top.

clapton stove top..Wish I had enough free time on my hands to do nice builds. I just rock dual coils lately.

I'm the same way, I'm very curious about clapton though, I need to do my research before trying it though, I'm just now getting good at wrapping consistent 26ga kanthal coils.

Just google pre made Clapton wire... Once it's already Claptoned, you build your coils the same way as normal. Get some pre made, try it out, if you love it like most.... Then learn to make them. Cause lets be honest, building advanced coils from scratch is highly satisfying
