My advice? Skip the nickel and just go with titanium, especially since your TC mod directly supports it.

Titanium is a lot less hassle to work with, less controversy, it's easier on battery life, doesn't require ten foot long coils, and it's actually more economical since coils last at least as long as Kanthal coils and can be easily rewicked without risk of deforming/ruining them, unlike nickel. And some (myself included) feel that titanium has a "cleaner" taste than nickel.

Thanks for the advice! Saves me money in the long run :)

I have got to stop buying in bulk!

Every time there is a "new" coil material I cringe a little at the thought of how much kanthal I have. It seems like ages ago, but it was only early 2014 when I learned how to re-build my protank 2 kanger heads, and I bought so much 32 and 30 gauge kanthal (like a lifetime supply amount...LOL). It made sense to me, as I figured I would be using these tanks for a long time. Of course, not long after that I moved on to RTAs that needed lower gauge kanthal, so I stocked up on that too. If I ever switch over to a TC mod and start to use a titanium or nickel (or whatever comes next)...I hope I will FINALLY have learned my lesson and not buy 500 or 1000 feet at a clip.

Luckily, wire is not a super expensive item...but the cheapskate in me hates to waste!

Tell me about it. I've got 30 through 22 gauge Kanthal and NiChrome in an over-abundance (though it's still useful, I actually hung a picture with 24 gauge recently), and an excess of "dead to me" Ni200.

In your case, since you're not using temp control yet, you can always twist that 32 or 30 gauge wire in lieu of single strands of thicker wire, or get funky and make some claptons.

Yep, that is "the dream"...but the reality is my lazy self will never get around to it
...but glad to know I'm not the only one with "inventory" issues .

Now that I think about it, I have overdone the buying with lots of vape items in the past. Most notably, with tanks...if I like a particular kind, I will buy a bunch of them so I can have a few flavors going at once. But what often happens is that I will move on to a newer style tank and I wind up having lots of old tanks (more "inventory" lol), sometimes not even opened! My friends that vape have usually been the beneficiaries of my overstock, so most of it gets used at least.

I don't have that many tanks and what I do have - there are no doubles. I am always anxious to try the next tank instead of duplicating what I like - I am not too smart that way...lol
