True story. I had that conversation with my own mom... the much harder one.I have, and I resent the heck out of it. It's ridiculous. Parents are supposed to protect their children, to educate them and make them aware of the world around them. You don't see them banning candy flavored vodka, and it seems to me that educating our children about the dangers of smoking and telling them that mommy has this pretty mod is helping her not smoke is a much easier conversation than "mommy has lung cancer and she won't be at your high school graduation," you know? So frustrating.
