Maybe they're mixing it up with cats? I know that blue eyed white cats have a higher rate of the white spotting gene, which is a recessive gene that can result in deafness. I used to have a white Persian that was deaf.
In Huskies, blue eyes are more common than brown...lol...max and Blizz are both bright blue, kitty had a pale blue and a chocolate brown.
Most of you know that we have been hanging on for several weeks while my husbands mawmaw fought for and clung to her life.
We just got the call. Last night she lost that fight.
I do not think we will be able to make it to TN for the funeral and no matter how many time he says he is ok I know my husband needs all the prayers we can muster while he deals with her passing as well as not being able to get to Bristol.

Sorry to hear of your husband loss prayers and thoughts to your family.
I just lost a close cousin yesterday, he is the second cousin lost within 1 year.
So sorry to hear that, Angel. My prayers are with you both. Maybe something will turnaround and you could make it for the funeral. Grandparents are so special and I'm sure you both will carry her in your heart forever. You and him can have your own little memorial....set aside an hour on the day of the funeral to just talk about and remember her!! I will be thinking about and praying for you both to get through this!
