I spent the day learning how to emboss aluminium panels for a box mod facelift. It seems so easy yet is actually quite difficult to get the pattern even. It's fun learning new things though.

vaping definitely takes you down some new paths :p
We will need pics when your done

I used to emboss the disposable cookie sheets. You can make some really nice artwork just tracing a picture onto the aluminum and then doing the embossing. The cookie sheets are soft enough that it's not hard to get whatever depth you need. They look amazing framed up.

I know this wouldn't be suitable for a mod since it's so soft. But what about doing a picture or scene of something? It seems it would be more forgiving than an overall pattern. I do hope you post a picture when it's done. I bet it's gonna look great.

Good morning.

It's a lovely idea and I like the feel. I suppose like anything, I need to practice and understand how everything reacts. I have the design worked out and it's a bit complicated for a beginner but anyway I am using foil and drink cans as my practice material so it's not too expensive at the moment. Famous last words. :p

The drink cans are a good source of aluminum for that. I've done some small pieces and little boxes with them. Yeah, I just love the media. It looks good even if you mess up a bit. :D I've never thought of it on a mod though. Would be awesome.
