Good morning everyone! Anyone else about tired of rain? Been raining non stop here since Tuesday afternoon.

Rayon is an even finer line, but totally worth it once you get it. I can't use premade coils with cotton now because of the funny taste.
What I notice about rayon is when I use a new rayon wick for the very first time, it has a little nutty taste until the wick is broken in.

Mine do that sometimes, too. Try using just a tad less. I usually don't worry about it if it goes away. Like someone said earlier, instead of expanding like cotton, rayon shrinks. Once you get the right amount, our that glacier goes away, it really has a very clean flavor to me.

To me......Cotton tastes like wet socks smell. It takes me ages to get past it in a tank so I gave up on both it and rayon. I still use silica. I find it more user friendly.

I do not know of I have ever noticed that....but I vape hazelnut so the nuttiness could be covered by the hazelnut :)

I love rayon too. I have been using it for a while now, and I get super clean taste. I used to use ekowool and twisted diy wick before I used rayon, and a while back I tried it just to see what my take would be on it now....[emoji53] ....not the same! Lol Many dry hits! Rayon has truly spoiled me!

once mastered (not really as hard as advertised...ask red....I got her on it), all you taste with rayon is.....DA JUICE!

that nutty flavor is a sign of using just a tad too much, which is actually good, cause the nutty flavor goes away quickly, and with the way rayon compresses when wet, a tad too much insures you will still have good coil contact once that happens. I always shoot for a "tad too much" and that "nutty" flavor (actually tastes like caramel popcorn to me for some odd reason) is a sign I got it right :D

silica has one of the highest scorch points, so using it is fairly easy, but, for me it mutes the flavor too much.

So at least I know I'm doing it right. This last time around rebuilding the RBA for the Cubis, I decided to give using rayon a shot instead of using the cotton pad. Not bad and it seems to hold up a bit better than cotton.

I have the BIG box of Sally's rayon, so if anyone ever wants to try it out, let me know and I will mail you some to try
The big box or the BIG box? I think the BIG box is like the equivalent of 3 of the big boxes. The weird thing is that the BIG box is measured by weight (3 pounds?), while the big box is measured by length (500 ft).

I haven't tried silica. That's the stuff that is kind of like a braided rope, right?

It actually rinses perfectly clean under running water. I bet you could just reuse it if you were in a tight spot. I always just throw mine away. Not like I don't have enough to spare. lol
