Shyly sneaks back into thread, well actually pushed in by significant other..... raises hand and says quietly.......

" My name is Simon, and I vape....... so apparently do my bowels..... :) "

Partner quote " Jeeesus who crawled up the dogs .... and died !!!! "

Leaves quietly in a slight brown mist...................

Well, actually, unless it is a term of contempt (far from a forum expert) I'd probably stand up and say I'm proud to be a fangirl. Since joining up here and getting my first e-cig I've become a HUGE fan of e-cigs in general and this forum in particular. Another side effect, perhaps?

I feel intensely positive about e-cigs so am strongly inclined to oppose negative or derogatory posts unless I feel they are justified, and jump in about comments I feel are inaccurate or contradict my own experience.

I'm not afraid of naming names, either (Trumpy, what on earth does ROFLMAO mean??) so here goes: I have been in contact and transacted with the following UK suppliers, who are all members of this forum -

Jason of Totally Wicked/Electronic Cigarette Co.
Simon of E-cigs.co.uk
Tim of Smokejuice
John of Intellicig
Freddo (lists on eBay)

They have all without exception been helpful, communicated promptly and informatively and provided me personally with exemplary service. I've actually needed to test warranties with Jason (dud battery) and Simon (juice which I decided I didn't like) and both replaced the items without hesitation. I am a fan of every single one of them and happy to extend loyalty and support to them if they are criticized unfairly (IMHO) here.

I'd always understood forums (sure that should be fora, really) were places where folk freely shared experiences and aired their personal opinions and fully intend to carry on doing just that unless prevented by computer failure! (Five and a half year old pc, scary)

So there you go, Trumpy - me on my soapbox. I'll hop off now :thumb:

PS If fangirl is an insulting description, I retract none of the above apart from my assertion of being proud of being one. I'll just have to live with it.

PPS Definitely not trying to pick a fight with Kate, either - who would dare? (apart from Trog of course!!) My season of love and truce lasts all year - 'cept when I get upset... ;)

Ditto, live and let live and all of that stuff, I don't think anyone was unfairly criticised here. I also stand by what I said, some sellers feed us any old crap. You can buy it if you want but don't expect me to pretend they are all honest.

Happy new year.

Tetsab .... i believe ROFLMAO stands for "rolling on floor laughing my .... off"

I have been around some other forums but the term "fangirl" is new to me too. Not too sure if it is a derogatory term or not :).

Dukeboy ... little bit of the smelly stuff here too, but not constantly. More just in the first couple of hours after getting up. Fine for the rest of the day after that.

ROFLMAO.... one step up from laughing my .... off... rolling on floor laughing my .... off :)

The one thing I like most about a good forum ( of which I am convinced this is one of them ) is that there is always enough soapboxes to go around ... heck I even lend mine to Kate and Trog when they disappear down the lane for one of their secret trysts ( ohh now THAT's gonna get me in trouble hee hee )

The precise reasoning behind my not naming any one retailer was simple, I have not dealt with them to experience their levels of service... my comments were solely directed from the standpoint of a bloke in Australia , marvelling at the price disparity between the asian retailers and those in the UK/USA... Service is a fine thing , but I know for a fact that shipping from the US to Aus is incredibly disparate, it can often cost 2-3 times as much to ship the same parcel from the US to Au as it does from Au to US and no amount of service would ever make up for the gouging of USPS,not to mention its slowness and high rate of damaged goods. THAT added to the prices charged is compounding insult to injury .... at no point in my post have I questioned Loyalty between any customer or any company :)
I admire loyalty immensely, but I think my post was intended to illustrate that loyalty needs to go both ways where the retailer respects the customer by being internationally competitive if it is an online business, online being the worldwide web

Funnily enough I do not think our thought patterns are too far off here, we are just looking at it from insular positions.... all part of the brave new world :)

Mental note if a supplier charges $20 + more than another ... have you not already paid for the defective part already you might have received???

I too am not overly familiar with the term fangirl/boy ... but as it came from Kate I have interpreted it to mean " You big virile convict studmuffin you !! "

Now can we please get back to discussing the bowel eruptions , I am most impressed that this is where the topic has ended up ... from comparisons of international trade to pop off in the bath ---- is this forum great or what !!!:D

I'm not positive on this one but I believe the terms fanboy and fangirl originate from fanatics of either game systems (Nintendo, Playstation, etc.) or Anime.

I lump those terms together with Anime, Gamers, Renaissance Fair folk, Trekkies, and S&M.

Good thing or bad thing? I guess that's up to you...haha.

I first saw the word fanboi (not a typo!) used in reference to a MMORPG, Ultima Online, which was one of the first online "virtual worlds". You may be more familiar with some of it's successors, Everquest or World of Warcraft. In their forums, anyone who defended the producer of the game was called a fanboi, even when the accusations against the company were ridiculous.

I'm staying away from Duke's smelly bot bot, thank you very much. This is my best line on the subject:

OK, now I'm officially confused as to whether I should be proud or ashamed of (possibly) being a fangirl or not.

Anime - well, that's pretty cool stuff.
Gamers - my personal jury is still out; getting rather OCD about this forum thing myself...
Renaissance Fair folk - not familiar with the term, is that sort of New Age or what we used to call hippie when I was a lot younger than I am now? If so, I can live with that. Always viewed myself as a bit alternative, ready to try out new stuff - like e-cigs for instance. :D
Trekkies - that isn't so simple; lifelong sci-fi addict but much prefer the stuff where the science is nearer the real-world cutting edge (nanotech, uploading, xenobiology etc) makes sense and you don't need to have Heisenberg compensators to get round the transporter's logistical problems. Never been to a convention though (or wanted to) and definitely do not possess a Starfleet uniform. Do think that e-cigs are the kind of sci-fi I'd always hoped to see in my own lifetime...
S&M - Doesn't float my personal boat but no objection to anyone else's preferences providing clear consent involved.

And for the record I'll state categorically that if one of my favourite suppliers cocks up royally or makes an idiot of themselves some other way I will leap up onto my soapbox just as enthusiastically; and not to defend them, either. ;)

As for my farts, sorry to report rather boringly that I haven't noticed any particular change in mine or my partner's. His are usually worse (or at least noisier) than mine and I tend not to look so proud of myself! Our cats most decidedly prefer vaping to smoking though - they hate that tobacco stuff.

Find myself curious - old pommie slang for a fart is 'Trouser trumpet'; does this suggest that Trumpy's nickname has nothing to do with venerable motorcycles...? Please take in spirit intended and grin.

And finally, thanks so much for explaining ROFLMAO. That is definitely going to become my acronym of the week, if not the entire forthcoming year. I love this forum - it's such a tonic it should be available on prescription :D :thumb::D

mmmmmmmm, side effects for new users?....from my point of view:

My 'normal' side effect from no nicotine is....um.....extreme constipation. With the e-cig, it's not too much of a problem. Of course, I'm still getting plenty of nic. BUT, I'm using an awful lot of Frebreze air freshener in my bathroom. (Got it?).

The first night after the mailperson delivered my first e-cig, I had the worst sore throat of my life. It really scared me and yet the next morning it was totally gone. Whew! No sore throat since.

Sense of smell IS returning. sometimes that's good, sometimes not....;o)

Sometime in the 2nd week or so, I had a few facial breakouts (at my age!). Disappeared quickly and have had no more.

I have occasionally had more nicotine than I'm used to. It's the typical reaction - fast heart-rate, shakey, etc. Be careful of this. Vaping is so much fun and tastes so good that you can overdo it easily.

The oddest thing is - I started vaping while in the middle of a sinus infection. Got over that and a week later had bronchitis. Got over that and now, I *think* I'm getting bronchitis again!! I certainly hope this is just coincidence. Please, someone tell me that e-cigs could not _possibly_ be the cause........P-L-E-A-S-E!!!!

Don't forget that a lot of effects can be from stopping the tobacco, instead of starting the e-smoking. Lot of poison trying to get out in all ways possible...

I'm not a doctor, so watch it carefully, take your meds if needed, see your doctor if needed... but I had a history of quite a few acute brochitises in the years before I started e-smoking and stopped smoking tobacco.

At that point of switching, my lungs and airtracts certainly reacted; including a couple of times that I really felt I was on the way to getting bronchitis again. But they didn't become full bronchitis, and the symptoms eased off again. After the first month or perhaps 2 months I have not seen any symptoms at all return; and for the first time in years I am now free of bronchitis ever since I started e-smoking (almost a year ago now). And meanwhile my lungs have recovered from the 65% they were at the time of switching to around 95% healthy lungs now... so I wouldn't say e-smoking has hurt me :)

Thanks katink. I keep forgetting that losing all the icky chemicals in analogs could do odd things to a body.

I have been to the doctor with each bout of illness (& will go today). My peeve is - the nurse is a long time smoker and I have been promoting the e-cig heavily. [It's pretty cool to sit in the doctor's office and puff!]. If I stay sick all the time, she's not going to be impressed.....pout.

You know, even if there's several bouts of illness, I guess it's all worth it for healthier lungs. AND, it could easily be just coincidence. I'm sure not giving up!!!
