i've been looking at the alloy XL lately...
it's all mechanical with a bottom button, it can use an 18650 for 3.7v or 2 rcr 123a's for 6v...
plus it has a nice matte metallic look to it and it looks sweet

I'm pretty sure that's Puresmoker's Prodigy V3 (or V3.1, I have one) it takes a 17670 battery (a little smaller in diameter than an 18650, but the 4.8V NIHM fits). They're discontinued but Puresmoker has a scratch/dent sale for $80 until inventory runs out. I got my Icon from the sale, it's in pristine condition and I love it. As for the OP, if you want a completely mechanical kicked mod I believe the Legacy is the first to hit the market designed with the kick in mind from the ground up. What I like about it is that you don't have to remove the kick to change the battery. There have been problems in the past with the kick dying for no apparent reason, and many feel that it does better if left in a device rather than removing it with each battery change. I have the kick on my bolt and I love it, also love it in my Silver Bullet. While not technically mechanicals, the only thing electric on these models is the switch.

Many other mechanicals will work with the kick. As mentioned the SuperT Precise Plus and Siam Cube, the GG, the megalodon, the REo Grand (bottom feeder), any of the 3.7v 18650 wood or plastic mods out there (some are bottom feeders, some are not). Not usre about the Maksi Mako and I'm sure there are more. Oh yeah, Saber Touch. You have choices!

If i were to get a fully mechanical mod that I could stack in, would I need 3v batteries to get 6v? or is there a way I can get about 5v from that?

The 4.8 NIMH batts will fit in most of the 18650 mechanical mods. I have been using them in my Prodigy V3.1 and my Silver Bullet (both bought from the classies). They hit great, come off of the charger at 5.7. I have only been using them off and on for a week or so, but I think I'm getting about 5-6 hours of vape time. I just got a multimeter and am going to do some tests with them soon. So far I really like them.

I've never used an NiMH battery but, I've seen posts that say the voltage falls off faster than most. I'll be interested in what you have to say.

OK, I tested a NIMH batt tonight and boy was I wrong about my vape time, plus the voltage drops REALLY fast. I put my results in this thread:

I doubt I'll be using them unless I'm out of charged AWs.
