I have one of the more common alterations to the aqua to increase airflow by drilling out the air holes larger. I have 28g kanthal and cotton and want to build my first dual coil. what should I try first and what resistance should I make each coil?

Depends on what you want from it, I suppose. I've experimented with a few different builds, different coil sizes, different resistances, etc....
I've found I don't care for it to low as it gets hot fast. The lowest dual coil setup being .4Ω using 2.2mm coils using 26ga kanthal.
My current build is my favorite, using 1/16" ID microcoils with 28ga, 8 wraps for about 1Ω each, for a total resistance of 0.5Ω.
Wicked with cotton, of course.
