Arctic tank issues

I have been using Kanger Aerotank Megas with .8 ohm coils since September. I decided to check out the new Arctic tank with .5 coils.

After, priming the coil by dripping directly onto the cotton, inserting into the tank and then filling with liquid and letting sit for 2 hours I plugged it onto my Cloupor T8 at a really low setting. I started with 10W and worked my way up to 20W. At no point did the flavor of my favorite liquids taste good as a matter of fact it tasted awful. In my Cloupor I'm using Panasonic mAh 18650 batteries...rated for 6.8A. I decided to switch over to my old eVic with same batteries and at 20W - I could taste some flavor but it still didn't taste great like it does in my Kanger tanks.

I cleaned the tanks out before filling to make sure there wasn't any oil residue left over from manufacturing so I know it's not anything contaminating my liquid.

Is it possible that these batteries are firing the coils too hot? I just bought some MXJOs rated at 35A which won't arrive until next week.

Everybody says the sub tanks have better flavor, But my Kanger Giant , pro tank 3, gs airs have much better flavor. my tanks i have sub ohm are kanger turbo, Eleaf melo, and kanger nano all have less flavor but bigger hits and bigger clouds. I dont care about the clouds but i do like the easier bigger hits. If i, going for flavor i always go back to my other tanks.

Ever think the tank might just suck?

Heres the wierd thing about vaping you can almost never go backwards.

You have a good tank and you like that tank. But you find something better. More taste, stronger flaver etc.
then you try your old tank and think hmmm I Loved this I wondrr why it has no flavor now.

This is especially true for people who start rebuilding.

It may just be the performance of your new tank isnt as good as the one you already use.
not saying thats it. But something to keep in mind.
not all tanks are equal if they were they wouldnt keep redesigning them for better performance.

The worst part of this is when someone does invent a hit, everyone else starts dumping out something that works the same way but it may not work as good. The sub tank was a hit, now everyone is trying to make them, no guarantees they all work the same

The thing is...I really haven't heard a bad thing about the Arctic which is why I decided to try it out.

I'm not much on making big clouds either. I just figured I could get a .5 ohm tank that's exactly the same size as my Mega and with less ohms you can run the same wattage at less voltage it makes the battery last longer. The same as when I switch from 1.2 ohm coils to .8 in my Mega.

About the only thing I don't like about the Mega is the tiny hole which at times is a P.I.A to line up right...which I was hoping to resolve with the Arctic tank. THAT and these Arctic coils are supposed to last longer and be better at vaping Max VG in a tank which if you use the Aerotank you know...the Max VG stuff kills the coils in 3 days.

Actually all the reviews I see would suggest your running it too low

These new sub tanks are for 30 watts or more with a few of them running better at 50+

Even busardo ran thr delta around 65
these style of tanks are really designed for High power

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=X9fdkPAj-Ek#

Most of the videos I find show people around the 100 watt range

So it may not be designed for maximum flavor at minimum power

I knew I was running it low...I was trying to break it in. I have to get batteries that can handle the amps that 30W can put out. On my Kanger I normally run around 11W which with .8 ohm coils that's only 3.7amps. I had no idea what amps my Panasonic 18650 batteries were because I never got anywhere near the 6.8amps they're rated for. 30W is going to be almost 8amps.

According to the website for Horizon Tech it says the .5 coils were designed for 20W-50W. I think in order to get to even 80W you have to use the .2 coils.

I am going to try it again after my new batteries arrive and see what happens when I crank it up a notch but the instructions did specify to run it for a while at the lowest setting, which is 20W on the minimum.

First off, if you don't prime the coil then it's going to burn up. These coils like dropper coils build up and you have to burn them off to keep using them. I use my arctic on a 30w box and a 50w unregulated box. I am a big fan of dripping yet when I'm at work I can't do all that. That's the reason I got a tank. ARCTIC I love mine.
There's various things that could give you a bad taste.. coils, wattage, juice .
You need to watch your pg and vg levels. Bad levels can clog the tank.
