I've seen this mentioned a few times now, and it's got me wondering.

I had a new atty tonight that I was using. I had it connected to a manual battery without a cart attached. At first it glowed bright orange, it smelled like burning paper, so I primed it with a bit of juice a couple times and burned it off, then primed it again and put on a full cart. Since then, it smells normal and doesn't glow orange.

Are attys supposed to glow, or is that just a result of running it dry? None of my attys glow.

Sorry for all the noob questions btw... :)

I am concluding that the primer is trouble. I'm not even sure we're supposed to vape the primer. I think primer can goof up your mesh from day one and remain in the mesh forever....unless you give the atty a good cleaning. I'm also concluding that THERE IS NO NEED TO CLEAN YOUR ATTY'S EVERY WEEK with cph! When the air flow drops off, clean it with cph. As long as you can "blow" the atty clean, there is no need to rinse in cph. CPH is to meant liquify gunkie juice clogging your mesh, blocking the air flow and getting that bad juice to release from the mesh and restore air flow into the burn pan.
