Are bottom feeders awkward?

They aren't as big as they seem. I currently have a REO Mini and a REO VVW.

REO Mini almost disappears in the palm

It's very small

The REO VV Woodville is the largest of the REOs and it's smaller than you might think too.

Are you are asking if it is awkward to squeeze the bottle while still holding the device in normal vaping position?
Because if so, I know I certainly can't do that. I don't find that to be a problem or anything though.

But if that is a concern to you, you might want to look at this mod instead...
Vapage V-MOD 2.0

I'm not saying whether or not it can be done with that device, because I've never tried one.
But it certainly looks like much more of a possibility.

Okay, so I am clueless about bottom feeders and I've been trying to use the search function to learn more before I order one, but it's not easy to wade through all the threads looking for specific nuggets of info and most of the people use abbreviations and technical terms instead of just plain English. So, a bottom feeder works with an atty and a drip tip? You don't use a carto or clearo on it because the bottle of juice feeds the atty as though you were dripping onto it? Is that right? So if I buy a bottom feeder, I have to buy specific attys to go with it and use a special drip tip or no? How often do you have to squeeze the bottle and is flooding the atty a regular problem?

Is there one type of bottom feeder that is highly recommended right now? I've heard some people say they have issues with leaking with the Reos. Anyone having that problem?

You can put anything on top of a bottom-feeder, including a cartomizer or tank, if you want to.
But that sort of defeats the purpose to a very large extent.
:)

I believe there are quite a few cartomizer users that still do that though.
I guess they find it easier to keep the cartomizer wet and prevents them from having to top off manually.

But most people would use an atomizer and a drip tip.
And no, there doesn't have to be anything special about the drip tip, it just has to fit the atomizer.
:)

As far as leaking, I'm having a hard time seeing how a Reo could possibly leak.

Thank you! You speak plain English very well. :)

They are atty and carto friendly. No special atty no special drip tip no special anything necessary - but mentionable is that the sealed bottom attys don't work (sealed bottom attys are uncommon). And yes, they have their own juice supply on board, so no need to prefill cartos if you choose to use a carto.

You squonk when the atty starts to get dry. that depends on the atty and the person. Flooding the atty might be a problem the first day or two as you get used to it, but you'll probably have it figured out in a half hour or so.

I've seen some references to leaking... but not actually from people who own REOs. The VModians like to compare juice wells and those conversations often make it sound like there is a leaking problem where there really isn't one. I could type a few paragraphs about the motives behind spreading misinformation (often it isn't even on purpose - just repeating the same less-than-true ideas they've read), but it leads to conflicts which I've been trying to avoid ;) ---- There is no leaking problem with any REO. It is *possible* to have some juice in the juice well and then lay the unit down to get a couple of drops to end up on a desk, but there are several reasons it isn't all that likely... and it certainly can't be called a "leak".

Thank you. So you would recommend a Reo or Reo mini for a clueless newb like me? I love the flavor of dripping, but not the constant refilling. I stick with the same flavor for most of the day. I currently use Twist with Stardusts and a Provari with a tank, but have to refill the Stardust too often and don't like the muted flavor of the filler in the carto in the tank. Someone on here said that based on my comments on other threads, I would probably be happiest with a bottom feeder, which is why I'm checking them out. I know a lot of vapers like to fiddle, but I don't. I like to pick up my device and vape delicious flavor with minimum maintenance and hassle. I don't mind spending a little more if it means getting the device that will work best for my needs.

I'm open to all suggestions. Thanks!

You sound alot like me when I was new and once I found bottom feeders, vaping became very enjoyable! I would have to recommend the Reo over other bottom feeders for ease of use, durability, customer support from Rob (the owner) as well as the folks who use and love the Reo's and made here in the USA. The Reo is not a device that you will be having to send back for an exchange or repair anytime soon, it is extremely well made! I have all 3 of the Reo sizes, mini, 18490 and Grand, the Grand and 18490 are my faves for performance and battery life :)

Hope this helps instead of adding to the confusion, I had alot of headaches when I was trying to learn all of this LOL.

i am not satisfied with any reos i've tried.
the VV Reo seems right for me, but 6v, 3.7v and 5v are not temps i vape often, and with the voltage not being regulated, the drop off disappoints me.
maybe a grand with a kick, i owned a reo, but it partially broke (which i repaired) and i then sold it for juice and attys for my provari.
