My concern is that cartomizers will take over to the extent that atomizers will go away.
Drippers, be concerned.

If I have to use a cartomizer, well, I don't know that I can handle that.
But I have 25 standard 510 atomizers left, and at the rate I use them, I figure they will last me for 15 years at least.

So I'm not worried, but I think other drippers should be.

Well, attys have been loosing ground to cartos, thats for sure. But there is one redeeming aspect to Attys that is making a comeback : tanks. Not those fail ... ego-t tanks, but systems like the RES from Apex and the UFS from GG. Throw in some capacity along with the life of an atty=win. We all love the performance of dripping, but it is a hassle. Systems that utalize an atty in the center and just feed them is the future.

Cartomizers will win out the users that need something hassle free and easy, but filling a tank with 2-5ml a juice and vaping for days on it with the exact same flavor/TH/vapor as dripping will turn a lot of people around.

I guess I'm just not getting the hassle of it...

I find that taking out my bottle is the same as taking out a cigarette from a pack.
I find that taking off the bottle cap is the same as taking out a lighter.
I find that dripping the drops is the same as lighting up.

Planning a timespace in which to refill my cartomizers is just too cumbersome for me.
:)

And when it comes to changing flavors on the fly, which I do constantly all day, nothing beats an atomizer.

I did check out what I could find on cartomizers prior to getting started in vaping, some of the stuff that you seem to need to do, filling from the bottom and top, whatever the hell that means, using condoms, LOL, dripping a little juice into the thing and then adding more as you vape, etc - yikes! Checked out the Bloog which comes with tiny batteries, personal charging system whatever that is, probably need to bring the damn thing to work with these mini batteries. Now people have dissed tanks but other than an issue with a cart which seems to be from a newbie mistake of drawing with all your might and actually sucking juice into the tip eventually, this is all amazingly simple, I charge the battery for 20 min a day and then fill the tank once a day, take the cap off, squeeze some juice in there, put the cap back on, done. We'll see how this all goes but so far I'm loving the ease of the ego-t!

I think that cartomizers are still evolving, the tank and wick style cartos such as the ce2 and vortex models which, while they have their bugs currently, seem to offer the best of both worlds, you can get tons of flavor and vapor, ala dripping, and the portability and convenience of cartomizers. I started with the standard prefilled V4L carts and evolved into dripping but now with the ce2s Im back to cartomizers again.

those dual-coil cartos are effectively LR, aren't they? is that a big danger to use on a standard 510 battery? to those who are digging the dual-coils: are you using them on an eGo battery?

I totally agree that cartomizers are the best thing for newbies. That's what prompted this thread in the first place -- I was checking some of the sites I've ordered from in the past for cart-based 510 starter kits to recommend to a potential new vaper, and was coming up with tanks and atomizers.

Yes they are LR that you can even use on high voltage devices. Figure that one out! Would I use them on the standard 510 batteries, no...there isn't enough power in those little batteries to fire it properly. Would I on an eGo? Yes...I have used then on eGo's just to try them. It's your call. I don't know if they affect the MOSFET switches in eGo's the same as a LR atty or not.

+++11111 for the Alpha Max w/RES...I'm in love with 3.7v all over again. 2ml RES and a full boge lr cartomizer and I'm good to go for half a day. For use with lr atty's (which I have never been a fan of), I changed my attitude. I broke out my old lr's and started using them again.

I think cartomizers and tanks will both stay in style and production because people with have preferences and want both. I started out with cartridges, then cartomizers, then tanks. I can finally say I'll stick with vaping as an alternative to smoking.

I'm happy with a tank because a primary concern of mine was burning the wick, liquid in the mouth, and not having a good idea when I was running low - I don't like fiddling with cartos when I drive.

To each their own.

The will be around for quite a while I bet. They sure are a good way for beginners, like me, to get started though. I just bought my first, a Crown7 Imperial. Probably not the best choice, but I needed one fast and this was about the only thing locally. And it will do till I learn the ropes of this Vaping thing!

:)

If you really enjoy the 2 piece setup, give a kr808d-1 a try. I think you will enjoy it. Vapor4Life.com sells both the kits and really tasty pre-filled carts or you can order blanks and fill them yourself.

Cartos with fillers are less popular than they were - hence the tanks of all types, smart carts, CE2's, clearomizers, etc. etc. I started with attys, experimented with cartos and returned to attys and now tanks. I think I'm sensitive to the taste of the cloth/filler used in most cartos and I've autopsied enough of them to see that almost all burn in some way or another - either the coil wrap or the filler itself or both and not just 'singed' but holes and black/brown soot - see the Dangerous Cartomizer sticky/thread under the techical forums. I am trying the dual coils - they seem to not burn as hot and still get vapor and have the CE2's early standard size versions that have lower ohms but no filler to burn. That said, most of my PV's now are eGo-t B-types.

Another thing about cartos... as I understand it they don't go through juice as fast as tanks. I haven't tried tanks yet but so far I've found cartos are the best way for me to vape. Fill a few good sized cartos wqith your fav flavor and just switch out when you get tired of one. No fuss no muss IMO.

I don't say I have ever paid much attention to juice consumption. Costs me about .10 cents for a 30 ml bottle DIY. I would imagine it would be a concern if you bought from vendors. Vaping satisfaction should be #1 priority though right?

Ya i don't think the cartos will go out only get better, the new dual coil work well no burning taste so they are still working on making better ones.I also have tank they use more juice and are big.Thought i got away from cartos now digging them again.I would like to see higher ohm dual coils maybey 2 2-2.6 ohm coils for us hv users.

The main reason most cartos use less ejuice is that that wattage is stepped down by higher ohms to keep from burning the cartos fillers and wraps. Less wattage = less ejuice vaporized. Although there are some LR cartos - they eventually burn something. Dual coils are a different breed but as long as there's filler, there is something to burn and while I haven't autopsied a dual coil yet, I suspect it won't be pristine but who knows.... So far the best I've had are the standard CE2's and even some of them have problems - XL's are poor at wicking and some revisions - they're 5 so far - have some metalic taste going on. The best I've had are the CE2 R2's standard size - lower ohms than most. That said, I still don't care for the 'syringe fill' for anything - cartos or some tanks, clearomizers, etc.
