My brand new carts took 12 drops to fill, but top off when refilling with 3 drops. I then am constantly topping off. Why? Because the filler is holding on to the other 9 drops. Sure enough, when I pull the filler out of a seemingly dry cart, it's filled with juice...yet none is making it down to my eagerly awaiting thirsty atty.

I've read similar things from carto owners. 30 drops for initial fill, then 15 drops to refill. All that extra juice is going to waste trapped in the filler.

Do filler mods like fluval or tea bags wick more juice to the atty (thus trapping less for their own greedy purposes lol)?

Is dripping the way to go to ensure you actually get to use all of your juice?

On the carts this is where the coffee straw mod came from. Seems worse with thicker juices but it's because of a suction issue. Air is not getting through the filler to fill the void left by juice leaving. I also need to top carts off often but usually just drip anyways as I use a wet cart instead of a drip tip to avoid those super dry burns you inevitably get when dripping. I also have an aluminum drip tip but had an allergy issue with it or some crazy shi7 so stopped using it. One of these days I'll have the money to buy those damn spendy coffee straws. :p Some peeps use qtip tubes but they'd seem a bit fat to me. Check the forums under tip and tricks to see how people do it specifically especially if you live on your carts.

Blue foam stuffing pretty can much totally empty a cart for me. When I top off it's because I am lazy or maybe the stuffing isn't positioned optimally and I am trying to get some good hits going. I only do a full remove-the-foam fillup a couple of times per day and top off the rest of the time.

But some cart/atty combinations do a better job of wicking up all juice than others. I mostly use M401 - tiny carts but good at wicking them dry.
