Not a waist of time or money, go for it. However from what I've read most prefer single coil.

I just started using a U-DCT mini double coil last night and even though it's early I'm really liking this device, I'll upgrade in a few weeks to a bigger badder tank, and single coil carto's.

If u want a good place for info as this is what I did, seek out Baditude here on ECF, he has blogs which help out immensely.

Those tanks will be a decent "first tank" to see if you will like a cartotank. My first tank was very similar to these. These are probably originally manufactured by Smoktech, and there's a slight possibility that they might be a little slidey on the cartomizer. (Smoktech DCT tanks have been a little notorious for this.) If initial cost is an issue for you, this can be a good first cartotank. The tank tube material appears to be frosted in appearance, so it will be safe to use with the tank-cracking juices like cinnamon and citrus flavors.

I also recommend using single coil cartomizers over dual coil carts, but this is a personal preference. I found dual coil carts to be slightly harsh and to frequently have a burnt taste. I've very rarely gotten this with single coil carts. In case there was any confusion, your can put either single or dual coil cartomizers in any DCT or cartoank.
