A little piece of trivia: The CE2 (the original clearomizer) actually stood for Cartomizer Edition 2, so CE2. Then, since they happened to be clear, they ended up being called clearomizers.
CE2, CE3, CE4, CE5, Evod, T2, T3, Protank, . . . . are all essentially cartomizers (atomizer + wicking material + juice holder, all in one). Yet, they're a drastic change from the original cartomizers.
All clearomizers could easily be called tankomizers instead, especially the ones that came after the CE3. That's when the tank portion becomes larger and more tank-like. But, whatever you call them, the -mizer ending should still be part of it since they do contain an atomizer inside them still.
A tank is just a tank. No atomizer included.
Maybe we shouldn't use 'Tank' as a category at all. Carto-tanks were originally calls DCT (dual-coil tanks). But, since a lot of people found that they liked single-coil cartomizers in them instead of dual-coil, they started being called carto-tanks instead.
So, maybe we should just drop Tank as a general category. A carto-tank is a tank, true. But, carto-tank is more specific and descriptive. After all, a clearomizer may not be a tank; but, it does HAVE a tank.
I, personally, prefer the names Carto-Tanks and Clearomizers/Tankomizers.
