It doesn't matter what cartomizer you put into a tank, glass or whatever, as long as it has
holes for juice to move from the tank to inside the carto, and is the
correct length for for the particular tank. Tanks and cartos come in two lengths, 35mm (standard) and 45mm (
Xtra
Long).
To answer the OP question, pyrex glass is the preferred material of choice. It is immune to any adverse affects of volatile juices. It also imparts nothing to alter the flavor of all juices. Being glass, it can not take as much abuse as plastic, though. There are different grades of pyrex, some are more durable against shattering than another, but knowing what each manufacturer uses would be difficult to find out.
Polypropylene is another plastic that is generally considered safe to use. It has a frosted appearance, not clear, but you can still easily see your juice level. Polypropylene is the same plastic that medical syringes are made of.
